This seems to be happening to a lot of people at the moment. And has happened to me, so I need your Steam usernames. Might as well post em up in here anyway.

Double Post for Relevance: The reason that this happened is there is an entirely new and pretty Steam GUI. Opt into the beta by going to your preferences.

I would just like to say that this new GUI is amazing. My favorite part is the new ways you can display my games.

EDIT: I changed my mind. Too many fail-gradients on the skin. The My Games section is the only good part. The new tray icon fails hard.

Just one of the fixes listed. Haven't gotten to play yet, so I'm curious to see what they've changed.

Agreed. They put in a bunch of gradients and hatch backgrounds and fucked functionality.

This is it:
  • Fixed Blue players being able to block the Blue spawn room doors to lock in teammates
Moved the Blue team Sniper wall down to match the Red team Sniper wall

Disagreed. Looks awesome, functions perfectly. And it's BETA - Ie: have you both used the feedback function to let them know your concerns?

The icons aren't great, could be better but an improvement over the old ones. The window itself is ok, but needs tweaking.

Also my friends list came back :D

Needs tweaking how? How are the icons not great?

I think it looks absolutely wonderful.

The quality of the new program icon is ok, but the tray icons are awful.

As far as I can tell, there's no reason to go and re-add people. Most of those who've had this problem said their friends lists are back up and running again.

Alright, after using it for more then 10 minutes, I've found a few things I thought they were missing. My biggest complaint now is that there are giant empty spaces all over the place that don't appear to have any purpose except to show off gradients.

What smartalco said, I love the interface for the most part but it could do with being slimmed slightly.
