There's been a lot of controversy about this game, so I want to see what the n community thinks!

I was that close to playing Sonic Unleashed, then my friend switched it to that Small Big Planet game watsisname.
To be honest, it looked good. Sonic was still ugly as he always has been since 98, but people tell me that it went back to its roots. I like the character of the werehog myself, even though I hate almost every new character, especially that shit Shadow. I'm happy that they finally made a game where that imbecile hasn't got a role. I hope they kill him off soon, along with that Silver guy, that purple cat thingy, but not flipping likely.
I still prefer the good old Sonic CD though. That's how sonic should look.

Yeah 29403, that's telling it like it is. Sonic CD is the greatest sonic game of all time.

They did kill him (ie shadow) off. In Sonic Adventure 2, shadow died in the end. Of course, Sega had to bring him back in Sonic Heroes, and then give him his own game in Shadow the Hedgehog.29403 wrote:I was that close to playing Sonic Unleashed, then my friend switched it to that Small Big Planet game watsisname.

Yeah. They had to bring him back due to the fans that wanted Shadow back. Fans would have much more respect for him, had he stayed dead.
Then again, I think he's alright as Lancealot in Black Knight.
As for the game itself, I find it pretty good. Very fast when you get Sonic's speed up to Maximum, and the voice acting is pretty good (for the first time since Shadow the Hedgehog). The Werehog levels aren't half bad. He isn't slow, contrary to popular belief, and the fighting is quite good. Maybe a little repetitive, but what fighting game isn't? And it's the first time they haven't shoe-horned in every character in the franchise. The only reccuring characters are Sonic, Dr.Eggman/Robotnik, Tails, and Amy (quite interestingly the first four main characters to be introduced in the series, and they appear in the order of how they were introduced).
I find it very fun to play; although most of my time is in the daytime stages, particullarly Spagonia.

I really am starting to be curious about this game again - my interest about this game fell down when I saw the werehog levels. It's a shame that I have much important games to buy now for my Wii, with my limited budget... :(

Having played both, the Wii version is far superior, but both have major flaws.
Basing my judgement around the Wii, the obvious improvements are:
- Remove the Werehog levels
- Remove the hub worlds
- Quadruple the amount of actual levels
- Make the levels longer, 3 minutes tops is bogus
- Reinstate the spindash
- Harder rankings
- Online TTs and leaderboards
- Sort out the sodding boosts (if I am facing sideways and hit the boost, I want to go sodding sideways)
- Bother with graphics after the first level
- Don't assign 3 buttons to do varying degrees of the same sodding thing
- Decent bosses
- Bothering to playtest for glitches
etc etc etc
