Me and Pops played it a bit back in the day, and I was relatively undefeated. I've since uninstalled it, but I could totally look for the old CD's and reinstall it. I have a legal version of CnC3, and an illegal version of Kane's Wrath. (I'm AF)
Edit: Besides, Kane's Wrath sucks anyway.

Stick around in Vent this Saturday, Kai. I'm sure we can get a game going.

I really like me a good RTS (not Starcraft). I've been wanting to get RA3 but was wondering if it was worth it.

I rather like Kane's Wrath, or at least the new units.

its not... its really not. i couldnt get thru the first mission without going, "holy fuck they ruined the franchise!!". it became a friggin cartoon.Techno wrote:I really like me a good RTS (not Starcraft). I've been wanting to get RA3 but was wondering if it was worth it.
ive said it before and ill say it again: red alert was supposed to have a darker feel to it, not be all bright and shiny like it is now. it was supposed to be russia turning into the new realities Nazi war machine. and if you played the first till the end, you can see that Einsteins experiment also affected the nod time line, forcing them to hide in the shadows and plan to use the soviet union to their own goals.
see the difference:
Then -
exhibit a
exhibit b
exhibit c
Now -
exdibit a
exhibit b
exihibit c
i think the only thing that has still remained bone chilling is Kane.
and sure af, sounds like a plan

The Red Alert series was always a bit tongue in cheek with humour but never quite as bad as RA3, in RA3 they just sorta went overboard. It was always intended for C&C to be serious and Red Alert to be more humorous.kai wrote:its not... its really not. i couldnt get thru the first mission without going, "holy fuck they ruined the franchise!!". it became a friggin cartoon.Techno wrote:I really like me a good RTS (not Starcraft). right, but the first red alert had more of a dark humor, and decent actors. now its all about the sparkly uniforms and hot chics giving you orders. not to mention the older ones had more of those awesome CGI cutscenes.
