And I read your disclaimer, but I just found it curious that you list something by A Swizzle that isn't Float :P.
I chose to only include one album per artist in my list and my judgement call landed on None Shall Pass. Float is not generally (and certainly not universally) recognized as being significantly better than None Shall Pass so I find your "curiosity" to be misplaced and based solely on limited personal experience.

I would say that's because he was pre-hip-hop. His massive influence can't be discounted, though.
