My potential entries are ready, I just need a little while to decide.

Also, I suggest not putting these sigs directly in the poll when voting rolls around. That'd be one frickin' long page.

Edit: Entered!

I submitted something, for the sake of yet again being the person to finish their image in the least amount of time.
My idea for this season is for me to come up with the worst decent colour schemes (as in, still legible text, and whatnot). I'll also most likely stick to custom fonts, because regular ones are boring.

So, good luck to everyone - and don't vote for me, because my one's terrible. :D

We have officially broken a previous record.

Last season SOTW received a total of 13 entries in its first week. Now, SOTW IV has broken that with 14 entries and there are still those who say they are going to enter.

I'm not only surprised but also ecstatic at the enthusiasm that people show for this contest. This looks like it's going to be a great 9 weeks. ;3

I don't know why you're surprised, pawz. It's a very simple contest that leaves a lot of room to be creative and have fun. Congrats!

I'm always surprised that people keep joining this contest. It is a lot of fun but I never imagined it would ever become so popular. I've been amazed at the success of this contest since the second season I ran it because it keeps becoming more popular.

Maybe that's what was wrong with MICC, people found the topics too complicated. They actually had to actively go and do something other than open up Photoshop and make a rectangular image and send it in a PM.

meh, MICC is dead anyways, it's not happening again.

If we break 20 entries, I'll make a custom sig for everyone who entered.

I think that in part, yes, sigs are much easier to make, but additionally I think the MICC was too centered around web layouts and forum skins, rather than simply photoshopping something. I think people expected something more along the lines of a Worth3000 contest instead of photography.

If we break 20 entries I'm going to need LV to increase the number of entries that polls can handle. D:

Considering most of your themes involved more than a day of work to complete, I think that MICC was a bit too hard for the average Photoshop dude. You told me once that to have a successful image contest you had to have themes that were easy to complete and keep the competitors interested every week to keep coming back the next week.

One of the main reasons Portfolio didn't work out was probably because many of the contestants found a few themes in a row to be too complicated to complete and thus they weren't so interested to try for the next week. I think the same thing happened to MICC, unfortunately.

cats! Lions! SNOW LEOPARDS!

So this week's theme is a little strange but I thought we could all have some fun with it. I used to see a whole bunch of cat avatars and a few of you guys had cat signatures for a while. I'd like to extend that theme to SOTW. Your signature this week must have some sort of cat, whether it be a big cat or a little cat or an abstract take on the word "cat". Go wild.

I think I could do this without even branching out from my usual animes. We'll see, though. I'll need to see what kind of screenshots I can get. ^_^
