FYI it isn't Call of Duty anymore. Infinity Ward dropped the Call of Duty name from the game. So it's just Modern Warfare 2, or MW2 if you like.

Call of Duty will continue next year, with Treyarch rumoured to be making a Vietnam based game.

Still, it's a definate buy for me.

it looks really fantastic single-player wise.

The only thing i hope to god they don't do is put vehicles in the multiplayer. The call of duty series for me has always been about infantry fights, with a nice mix of range and close quarters. Vehicles made cod3 bad, and they will make MW2 worse.

But it should be awesome, i've always preffered cod2 and cpd4, the single player is epic and enthralling, and the multiplayer on cod2 is what got me into playing online.

Trivia: i actually realised this the other day, and i was quite pleased i noticed. Basically the map "chinatown" in cod4 is a direct copy of one of my favourite maps from cod2 (forgot its name). The only difference is they've replaced the boombed walls with scaffolding and half finished buildings, and all the old models have been replaced with modern ones.

ya i hope they don't put in vehicles either. i actually got into a huge fight with an ex {UpS} clan mate about it. he modded his server with dogs and vehicles and its not as good as being the grunt, imo.

Yeah just saw that new trailer today. It looks so damn good. Just can't believe we have to wait so long for it to come out. :(

I do hope that the vehicles in this don't make it too irritating like cod5 was. I wouldn't say that vehicles necessarily ruined the game, I just think that it would be better without them.
The general graphics and locations on this look epic. Considering just how well cod4 did, they do have a massive amount of pressure on them to make sure that mw2 is at the very minimum, on par with 4, but hopefully a whole lot better. That being said, this game is going to be huge. Cant wait.

did they end up taking them out? i kinda liked the tanks in cod5. they're not that irritating as long as you dont approach the situation like a dumbass. i always used rocket sniping and flanking as my tools to deal with that.

it kinda looks like they're gonna keep the vehicles small and lightly armored, which is a step in the right direction.

Yeah I heard that they were going along the lines of Hummer's and such. Also appears as though there may be snowmobiles too.
Judging by the locations like the slums in rio, snow covered mountains etc makes it seem like big ass tanks may not be that necessary. It was treyarch that put all of the vehicles in 5. Now that mw2 is back in the hands of infinity ward, they should hopefully stick to what made 4 so good.

Looks Great. How come Call of Duty is not in the title?

I'm thinking that since Call of Duty4: Modern Warfare was so massive, just calling this 'Modern Warfare 2' will have more of a tie to 4 and sort of push 5 off to the side a bit. So rather just having a series where 4 and 6 are huge hits, breaking off the 'cod' part and just calling it MW2 makes the modern warfare titles seem more disconnected from the rest of the series, like they are separate titles from the rest.

Also, when discussing cod 4 and 5, they usually just get shortened to modern warfare and world at war. So maybe this could be a reason just to stick with the 'modern warfare' title.

I think it is just Infinity Ward's way of telling Activision to stop shitting all over their series

Yeah, if you haven't already (but you probably have) you can watch the E3 demo on youtube. But as I said, you probably have, it's just people like me, who always become aware of E3 a day late, that need that kind of stuff.
