I love the Splinter Cell series, I've played each one several times over, and am eagerly anticipating the release of Conviction. As for the poll, I loved Chaos Theory. It had pretty great graphics for the original Xbox, and it is the pinnacle of the "sneak around in dark places" phase of the game. Double Agent had a nice, simplistic control and HUD layout (which also made for a more cinematic experience without all of the information clogging the margins), as well as a cool, though over-played, storyline. However, it just doesn't live up to CT, and seemed rather short to me (excluding the "base" missions, which I thought were rather annoying). While it did have the best multiplayer scheme (on second thought CT did it quite nicely), it lacked the co-op game play, which was thoroughly enjoyable, albeit frustrating at times. Also feel free to use this thread to discuss Conviction.

Really liked them all, but I'd say the second was my favorite. The plot of the latter was weak, but it had the solid gameplay of the franchise, as perfected in two.

I'm a huge fan of the Splinter Cell series, and I might very well be a Tom Clancy fanboy if I had the time to waste to read his novels.
Chaos Theory takes the cake. Pandora Tomorrow is close behind, though.
I thought Double Agent was just downright shameful.

Hugely enjoyed Chaos Theory, especially the multiplayer.
Did not hugely enjoy Double Agent, especially the multiplayer. (Actually, I never played Double Agent single-player, but the point still stands.)

Oh, that reminds me... Chaos Theory's co-op mode with a friend generally makes for one of the best gaming experiences you'll ever have.

Oh, shit. I just remembered how friggin' amazing that gameplay was.
Anyone seen the X-Play videos they made that were hysterical using this mode?

I played Chaos Theory so hardcore, barely started the single player. The multiplayer was a-ma-zing. I loved the huuuuge amount of strategy spread out between two teams of two (you hear that, Army of Two?). Double Agent's multiplayer was an outright joke. I'm praying that Conviction won't do the same thing to me. This time, however, I'm not shelling out my money until I hear about the game.
