I will be thoroughly disappointed if we don't have terabyte thumb drives in 15 years, 640 in 20 should be no problem

I thought the same thing at first but then I got to wondering: the size of your average thumb drive is probably the best size for a portable storage device as it's small enough to carry around without any inconvenience and large enough not to lose when you blink. But yeah, if we'll certainly replace flash memory in the next 15 years and, I don't know the science behind it, but I imagine there would be heat problems with making 1TB thumb drives. There's going to be an upper limit to these things.Tsukatu wrote:I will be terribly disappointed if thumb drives still have a use in 15 years.smartalco wrote:I will be thoroughly disappointed if we don't have terabyte thumb drives in 15 years, 640 in 20 should be no problem

If I get a genie, after I wish for a ridiculous amount of tits and a copy of the Criterion Collection "Rushmore" on DVD, I'm going to ask for the Infinity (thumb) Drive.
