A decent sniper set up can dominate 2Fort. You can control not only the enemy battlements and the roof of the bridge, but the enemy lobby and the bridge itself. You can suppress the entire overground section, very useful for clearing a path for your flag runner, or forcing the enemy down into the tunnels. All you need is some decent backup (an engi set up in on the main landing watching your back, the team being alert for spies etc..) and a scout, soldier, or demo to run the bridge roof and help control the battlements if it gets too much.SlappyMcGee wrote: The sniper helps very little in maps like 2Fort, where you need someone to bring the intel back to your base, and with his average speed and bad close-combat experiences, he almost invariably ends up in a "sniper v. sniper v. occasional soldier" war.
Of course you can say a decent team can handle a sniper or two, but then a better team with a couple of snipers can dominate them in turn. We can set up a few games if you like (ping allowing), I'll show you how sniping can control that map :)
