I guess. That's kind of why you shouldn't call dibs before you see what the map data looks like, and you decide that you can work with it.

Good stuff, guys! I've been PM'ing the people in line letting them know it's their turn, since otherwise, I imagine this process would take a lot longer (people forgetting etc.)
So from now on, if there are people in line after you, PM them once you're done with the data, so I don't have to keep checking back here and PM'ing people myself.
Ideally, this whole thing should be able to stand on it's own.

I am sorry about the enormous change in aesthetics, but this is how I stay relevant. I tried my best to preserve your ideas so that they are not redundant. I hope I am not too hard to work with. A note about my hidden doors: they are my ideas for switch placement. Completely optional.
Edit: Changes to gauss placement and manual editing for the launchpad to enable smooth movement.

The top needs to be worked on a bit, but the bottom feels pretty much done IMO.

Sorry about the launchpad bug. Here's a quick fix:
Alternatively if anyone has already been working on it, just place the launchpad one c-snap higher and change !2^x,y,0,-1 to !2^x,y,0,-0.96.

I actually thought that the weak jump pad was purposely done, it was kinda cool having to jump on it..

Does anyone mind if I withdraw on the same grounds as eganic? I just can't get this to work, and tbh I don't like where the project's going either?

No harm done in withdrawing your dibs. I'm just puzzled as to why this is so hard for people. Just add something to the map.
And what do you mean you don't like where the project is going?

Well, mostly because the map doesn't need adding too; it's pretty long imo, and anything I add would only be at the detriment of the pacing. And I'm not sure about this, but prevent people from deleting stuff is pretty offputting (although I'm not sure to the degree of this in the collab)
If it's helpful, this is the point where I was the most satisfied with the collab.
And if anyone cares, here's what I did to that version.

GTM:
You are right about not being able to delete anything. I only added that in an attempt to prevent people from completely writing over other people's ideas. But I suppose in a normal collab, that just might happen.
Ok. I changed the rules a bit:
to this:
If you post dibs but decide that a. or b. is true, then that's it. You would then edit your post saying so, and then I'd post the finished map.the nitty gritty wrote:This system continues until either:
a. The potential contributor can't think of anything to add, or
b. The potential contributor decides that the map is best left as is, and anything that he/she might add would detract from the gameplay/atmosphere, restrict the playability, etc.

Ok. I changed the rules a bit:
• DO NOT alter what is already in the map, you are simply adding on to it.
to this:
Fair? I'd like to keep The Melting Pot very open to change. If you think you have a better way of running this, please, post your suggestions!• DON'T be a jerk and erase everything the last person did. If you feel it will improve the map, you may refine the original map to your tastes.
