Hmmmm, completely un-ordered...

The Jimi Hendrix Experience / Band of Gypsys
Rage Against the Machine
TV on the Radio
The Mars Volta
The Beatles
King Crimson
The Red Hot Chilli Peppers
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds
Queen
Snowman

Snowman is a fairly tenuous addition because I only just listened to one of their albums, but loved it. They could easily be replaced with The Pretty Things.

I only included rock bands, no hip hop groups.

Please, if Pitchfork has taught us nothing, Pavement is just a derivative of Weezer that used time travel to make it seem like they were pre-Weez.
