I've heard...
Meteor
Disease
Overpopulation
Aliens (it was from T.V. I KNOW this one is true lol)
Nuclear bombings
Ozone layer leaving
Gama Ray Burst
Flying out of orbit
EDIT: Super-volcanoes (Yellowstone erupting)
So...what do you think WILL happen?

It's just the ending of their calendar. Apparently, it's either gonna be the end of the world, or the irrelevance of time.wedgie wrote:Funny you should say this. There was something in the paper about the end of the world as predicted by the mayan's or something like that in 2012.

The mayan calenders (they have 2) end on December 21 (i think) 2012. Most people think that this is the end of the world date. Since it's just the end of the calender, it doesn't explain how, but one think is for certain, all of the Mayan predictions for the future have come true. How is the question, many religions explain the end in a different way. Some are natural disasters, for some is an antichrist, science says many things could happen. It's just a very open topic

Apparently Yellowstone is overdue for an eruption...and when it does. Basically it will erupt, making the atmosphere so covered in soot, that there will be no sunlight, and we will SLOWLY SUFFER!!!! (doesn't that just sound like a fun way to die?)

Wow. Nostradamus made predictions that came true as well...Qwubble wrote:Since it's just the end of the calender, it doesn't explain how, but one think is for certain, all of the Mayan predictions for the future have come true.
The more bland your "predictions" are the easier you can apply them to certain things.

Everywhere except for Australia, you mean. The really cheesy or really great apocalyptic movies always have Australia as this last hub of human civilization. Sure, Australia will be covered soon as well, but for some reason they are always last.Qwubble wrote:Apparently Yellowstone is overdue for an eruption...and when it does. Wouldn't that be ironic if a meteor struck Australia first? Ha.

In 2012 the earth will overpopulate, causing the earth to fly out of orbit. While flying in...some random direction...aliens redirect an asteroid that slams into us, with radioactive stuff on it. Causing disease to spread throughout the world. Afterward, a Gama ray burst hits us causing all of our nukes to blow up.
THATS how the world's going to end. (if we don't freeze to death instantly after flying out of orbit in the first place).
:D
