Do you agree in that art on a computer is inferior to art in the real world? Im interested in seeing whos in the right here.

Yeah, I'd like her phone number to. You know, strictly for berating purposes.
That's what my friends at school said :)

Well, then, something an artist calls art. There you go, defined.

'Art' is anything that has been defined as such by anyone.

Art is subjective.

However, if you wanted to persuade your sister to change her mind, I suggest a quick trip to Deviantart or Caedes.net.

Oh, and speaking of the craziness of art, I recommend anyone to look up An Oak Tree (Accompanying Text).
That one might just make you question your own values of 'what is art'. If you don't dismiss it as pretentious piffle, that is (which is also easily done).

EDIT: Incidentally... hello, the forum. I've been lurking.

Ironically, my sister uses deviantart regularly -_-

And that is one cool masterpiece :)

Imagine if she maintained that the same held true for music and that only unmastered acoustic bootlegs constituted art. She... she'd be a hipster goddess!

Bah! Instruments? Anyone can make music when assisted by instruments. It's all just plucking strings. Real music is performed without instruments of any kind.

Yeah, I'd like the phone number of your naive, probably attractive, 16-year old sister as well.
You know, for berating purposes. Strictly for me to berate her.
Yeah, for the berating.

Imo, it is in some shape or form. I took an image which I managed to find hidden meaning in, and changed a few settings. The original photo was probably art, at least from their perspective. I just changed some elements to convey some different themes; the original inspiration hasn't faltered.

Then again, I guess I can determine from this thread that art is subjective.

Your sister said that graphic art is "just a bunch of pixels."

And with the development of digital media we can take the Mona Lisa and turn that into a bunch of pixels as well... Obviously she'd say that were art, but she'd be talking of the original painting and not of the pixelled version. And if you showed her the MS Paint video on YouTube of the guy who recreated the Mona Lisa in Paint she'd say, "Wow, that's not art" even though it's essentially the same as the digital picture of which we described earlier.

Your sister needs to be reminded that she isn't a work of art either, GTM. :/

The Mona Lisa is a collection of pigment molecules.
