I was thinking about this one today, and I gotta say, it's a tough one. Out of Ratchet and Jak, Jak'd easily win I think. He has superpowers, and more ammo in his gun which shoots nukes than Ratchet has in his. On the flip side, Daxter is pretty much useless until this new game which sticks it's dick in the past three, so I'm assuming that it's not cannon and thus does not count. Seriously, Dark Daxter? Who came up with that?. So, uh, and mouse-rat-thing with near infinite power, but no idea how to use it, or a robot who can command an army of smaller robots (or sometimes bigger in the 2nd game)...and just for the lols, turn fucking enormous and use a "fuck-shit-up" move (That weird thing on the y button. :S). Yeah, pretty sure I know how that'll go down.
So from my perspective, that'll just leave Jak and Giant Clank in the fray. Now, that does sound pretty one sided, but Jak has proven himself to be able to cope pretty well with fucking enormous robots (see almost every boss in the series).
I think due to the relative crappyness of the furry halves of the duos, it'd be close, and because of this, I just can't decide.
I guess Jak, because if worst comes about, he can always just shit bail over a canal in that jumping car he got in the third. Robots are bad in water. :S

This is like asking which one would win if Roadrunner and Sonic raced.
Sonic would win.
Sonic would win.

I'm going with Jak.
As far as which series is better? That is like asking if Fender or Gibson is better. You'll have guys arguing for either side, but in the end, they are both really damn good.

Jak and Daxter (maybe the later games) has a lot of swearing for the sake of swearing. I played the Jak 3 demo, and hated it for that exact reason; what's the point of it?
On the other hand, Ratchet and Clank games are pretty amazing. Clank's been getting more and more screen time as the series has gone on. A Jak/Clank crossover game might work well if Jak just shut up.

I kinda liked that - Jak came across as edgier, and definitely more frustrated. He should be, considering all the dark eco shit that's gone through him.Pikman wrote:Jak and Daxter (maybe the later games) has a lot of swearing for the sake of swearing. That and you know, at that point he'd just been exiled from the city who's liberty was pretty much the sole reason that he went through with further dark eco funky shit and multiple wounds.Techno wrote:I kinda liked that - Jak came across as edgier, and definitely more frustrated. Uh, literally the entire plot of Jak 2 was that they had to commit some time-travel shenanigans to save a younger version of Jak. Who is actually from the future. Which is now the present.Universezero wrote:Ratchet and Clank for sure. Can Dexter travel through time? I think not.
And at the end of Jak 3, it alludes to more wacky time travel stuff, including the founding of -- wait, no, it pretty much outright says "You now have to go back in time and found this city, yo". So pretty much, Jak and Dexter have been travelling through time since before Ratchet even had an energy whip.

Time traveling in Jak & Daxter
Jak 1: Jak comes from no where, kicks ass
Jak 2: Jak & Co. accidentally open some kind of wormhole thing, metalheads pour out and take over the city whilst Jak & Co. are teleported to the future, where you meat kid Jak (except it doesn't actually tell you that it is kid you)
Jak 3: You find out the kid is you, kill a bunch of dudes, meet the masters of the universe, and find out it was Jak who founded the original city the game is based in/around several thousand years ago
