You know, I used to be just like you guys.
My only responsibility was school, so I'd come home, maybe do homework and get on the computer until I was only going to get 6 hours of sleep before I had to wake up. Life was great.

But then I moved away, gained some perspective, moved back home, was offered a job, started working, decided to get back into school for my own reasons and now I have a busy schedule.

I could go the quick and easy route and say that espada won, but that would be unfair to all the maps I have yet to play.
Also, prizes don't exist for that anymore because I don't have the ability to give you the prizes I promised.

Well that's unfortunate.

But I don't think it's exactly fair to criticize the enthused followers of your event as having no perspective, especially since you've had a more than reasonable amount of time to get your stuff together. Besides, you were the one who enthused them.

Don't imply that everyone else here LIVES on the computer. I spend 19.5 hours a week training in the pool. I doubt anyone else here has an athletic commitment like that.

And let's see, you lost your admin privileges because of some joke?

You do realize you just implied that everyone else here LIVES on the computer, don't you?

Athletic commitment? Ask me about my surgery. And I'm not the only other athlete around here, for certain. You're on a high horse about a lot of things, Radium. I suggest you humble yourself a bit.

I most certainly did not. My previous statement had no implications whatsoever. I said I am the only one who trains in the pool 19.5 hours, and that's a fucking fact.

No shit, Sherlock.

Hey, last time I checked, you barely know me. And making an offensive, bold, generalization about my character based on your inconsistent observation of my posts is ludicrous. Good DAY, sir.

EDIT:

Sorry about that ^. I get aggressive and combative quite easily. I will try my best to tone myself down. Have a good one.

Okay, but while 'pawz was implying a rather lax schedule for us forumers, he's more than a bit right, as most forumers do have it pretty easy. It comes with the average age of what, fourteen? When I first got here, I fit that description almost to the letter. Anyway, I think you could've made your point without getting so uppity. The 19.5 hours was where the "high horse" came in. You may not have meant to sound all superior for your athletic commitments, but in the context of your post, where you're basically bashing 'pawz, it certainly comes across that way.

That's rather harsh, I'm a bit hurt to be honest. I speak my mind. I don't take shit from anyone. And I fail to understand how my previous posts have put me on a "high horse".

All in all, your post has offended me.
Not taking shit from anyone is one thing, but giving 'pawz quite a bit of shit is another. Your reaction to me was perfectly valid; I'll admit I may have been a bit harsh, but I felt I had to say something. Your reaction to 'pawz was not okay. He does the best he can for this community, and while things aren't ideal on NUMA nowadays, they never really were. People always find something to complain about, and 'pawz has to deal with that every time he logs on. When you ended your post with that condescending little remark, you come across as thinking you could do the job better. In retrospect, it makes the whole post look rude, even parts you may have intended as civil.

Sorry to have offended, but /I/ was a bit offended when you insinuated that you're the only athlete around here. This community is full of people with diverse and exceptional talents, so to presume you're the only -anything- around here makes you look a little... I don't know. Full of yourself? That's about the only way I think I can put it. That's why I suggested you exercise a little humility. I'd still recommend it as a general rule around here.

All in all, I was just trying make a point for you. Speaking your mind is fine when done politely, which is not how you handled your last post. Even your original post was pretty rude. "yo wtf happened to that?" was not the right way to ask, "Hey, has there been any progress on that Pisces contest?" I hope you see my reasoning. I wasn't trying to be mean, just stern; I don't come here to make enemies.

I'd wager that you're not a rude person behind the keyboard, Radium, so try not to type like one. I'll do the same. ;)

Edit: What happened to your post? I refreshed the page and it got a lot meaner. It looks like we've reached an understanding, though. Thanks for bearing with me.

Pheidi, this post has really opened my eyes. I mean that with all sincerity. You are clearly more level-headed than me, and I completely agree with everything above that you have said.

I'm going to try to grow up and act a bit more like you.

Ha, I'm flattered, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. I got a tiny bit heated myself in that exchange. Still, I'm glad you got something out of it. I think I did too. ^_^

I would also like to apologise for making broad generalisations about the demographic here. You are not all sitting around with minimal responsibilities. I admit, I have had plenty of time to finish judging the Pisces competition and I probably would have gotten around to it... eventually? I can't say for sure. Remember that it took me about 5 months to finish SOTW. I'm not one to speed things along unless I set extremely specific deadlines.

Thus Radium's post was not entirely unwarranted in wanting to know about the Pisces contest. I think that is fair. Maybe he could have said it in a better way and I would not have been so sarcastically blunt with him//everyone. The fact of the matter is that post was mostly just a bunch of excuses for something that I was doing for fun and thus did not see it needing to be judged at any specific time or date.

I'm glad that you've also gained perspective, Radium, and I am quite impressed with your athletic commitment. Unfortunately I'm not sure when I'll go back and judge them Pisces maps as I've been very put off from the shady mothafucka who discovered my password and used it to get into my account.

Regardless, I'm still around in the community that is not NUMA. Maybe I'll post the results one day. I wouldn't count on anything anytime soon though. :(
