Bad Company 2

I think looks great. Can't wait until it comes out in march.

Any other Battlefield fans who are anticipating this?

Not a big fan of it but I'll consider renting or buying it for PS3 when it comes out. Graphics and gameplay looks great though.

I've got the first one. Damn. I want that game so much it's not even funny. Looks amazing, that it does. Too bad it's rated M, though, and the fact that m mom isn't cool. ;-;

When I get my own Macbook Pro/Boot Camped Windows 7 I will so get that game.

The Frostbite Engine is amazing. You can knock down whole buildings now. I mean, look at that. Look. At. That. They've brought back reviving, parachutes, and a custom class system. I'm very excited.

Red Faction: Guerrilla uses the Geomod engine to a similar effect, possibly even better, and even the online modes focus on destroying/defending targets (Siege, Demolition, etc.), but this looks fantastic. I'm not the best FPS player out there but they do interest me and I like playing them regardless. I tried the demo for the first Bad Company and found the single player gameplay decent, but not terribly exciting either. I hear it's all about the multiplayer, kind of like Call of Duty. I might get it if I can experience the first Bad Company online.

Make sure you play Gold Rush Mode if you do. Conversely, don't forget to download the map pack along with the conquest game mode (Free DLC!).

probably better. i heard the programmers had to learn how to become architects for that game, learning basic structure design for buildings as well as weight support (take out some support pillars and down comes the building)

Downloading xbox demo right now. I'd grab PC but my PC isn't playing nice lately, need to reinstall the OS to be honest.

Played it: As far as I can tell there's no buildings falling over in the demo but that may be a single player only thing. Rush mode is pretty fun and the classes seem balanced, only issues are/were getting in to a game earlier in the day (remedied now), my stats randomly bugging out so I couldn't earn stuff (Gets better, ranked 2 next match and should have got a fuck ton of points) and lag. All these are server issues and are already gradually being patched out.

I've played the 360 demo for 11 hours over the past couple of days.

Pretty damn fun. I'm wanting it for PC, but I've put myself on a 'stop-spending-money-you-idiot' budget; I'm not sure if I can convince myself it is worth it :/

After playing the original BC shortly after I can definitely say they've overhauled the vehicles and controls.

Since a staple of the BF series is 'realistic' vehicle controls (this applies to hospitals and jets as well), anything could be better. I never played the first BC, but I don't find controls in here too hard.

The first BC was very consolely. As an aside I took down a building the other day, You can't take out the support things but if you take out enough walls the building collapses, you can use this to destroy a point actually.

You can also just literally blow up an objective with about 10 C4s (or equivalent in T-90 shots, grenades, etc). My team was kinda sucking ass the other day, so I did precisely this on two different points (the first of which was Bravo on the first part of the map, there is no building around it to destroy). I'd jump in the ATV, or one of the tank-like vehicles, rush to the point, throw on some C4, then blow it before I could be killed (which also resulted in a suicide, because I was unwilling to waste the time to run away from the point, but it had the plus side of respawning me with more C4!)

Go shotgun assault, you get ammo packs AND C4. You can easily place 1 or 2 more before you need to detonate. Alternatively load a quad with 10C4 using ammo packs to replenish and suicide ride it in to the point, either jump off and detonate or have someone else drive and you can detonate it from the back seat.

Aha, that takes me back to the Battlefield 2 Days. Load up a humvee with C4, pick up some speed, hop out and let it ghost ride into an enemy base. boom. land mines were fun too, back when the engineer had a pistol as well. I would hop in a helicopter, fly way up over an enemy base and bail out. I'd whip out my land mines and drop them around the flag, then whip my pistol out and shoot the land mines if an enemy walked by.

And that takes me back to the Star Wars Battlefront 1 days. Someone was camping with an AT-ST (chicken walker) outside of the cantina, standing completely still and firing periodically at the door. I was approaching from behind him, so he didn't see me. I placed mines in a half circle behind the AT-ST. Then I ran through his legs into his line of sight, then back towards his legs again. His first instinct is, naturally, back up. boom!

My brother has been waiting for this game basically since it was announced! And hasn't really been off it since it came out!
Very good game. though, It doesn't look like it's suited for the xbox, It just doesn't. And I am actually torn between that and BC: 1. I love the fact that pistols can go on any class now, since I kill out pistols on EVERY GAME (Tat includes Halo, when I had it! :O)

I beta-tested, and it was awesome. It's really worth buying the game.
