Everyone in my flat's been playing this, let's give it a shot...
15k. =\
Ooh, make that 30.
And I've seen Canabalt before, so I can only assume it was posted or tossed around the IRC in one of my fleeting glances there. 4050 on my first try. Got taken out by one of the goddamn closed buildings.

Whaa? The music is a critical part of the game! The gameplay is too simplistic to be enjoyable for more than 30 seconds; it's the atmosphere that makes me love it. The clash between the supergay, sparkly, butterfly-collecting, rainbow unicorn adventure and the cold, badass, determined tone that the game is presented with is what makes it great. Everything is bright, and the high contrast makes the unicorn's metal body look all the more menacing. You leave rainbow trails as you collect butterflies while you annihilate all opposition by smashing mercilessly through it Juggernaut-style. And the inspirational messages when you begin versus lives being called "wishes"! The game is truly a work of art. You can't have the game without the music.

Best viral internets thing I've seen in a while.
Original song and video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSMeUPFjQHc
The amazing epic story portrayed in the video lays a whole other layer of depth onto the lyrics of that beautiful song.

I agree wholeheartedly. I'm pretty sure that song got waaaay more downloads when that game became semi-popular.Tsukatu wrote:Whaa? The music is a critical part of the game! They should release CANABALT as an Xbox live arcade game, that would be awesome!
