2009 GOTY: http://kotaku.com/5393592/fallout-3-win ... -joysticks
I'm leaving the thread open since most of these games weren't even entered for GOTY since the release so close to the awards. SO 2010 GOTY SPECULATION GO GO GO.

MW2 will still probably scoop it regardless...

I think Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 will be the best, as I loved Modern Warfare, but I won't vote until I try it. Brutal Legend was fun too.

like I think I've already said, if you think there should be any other games added to the list, go ahead.Ackmest Dansam wrote:2009 GOTY: http://kotaku.com/5393592/fallout-3-win ... -joysticks

N, for the... er... fifth year running? Yeah, I don't get out as much as I should. Guess I have no pie.

After playing it for a while I've decided to vote for AC2.

MW2 or Uncharted 2. Voted modern warfare.

Over 100 media outlets have given Uncharted 2: Among Thieves their GOTY award, including arguably the most prestigious one given by the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences at the DICE Summit last week. It also has a 96 weighted average on Metacritic after 104 reviews, and this is only calculated from the publications which use a score system that can be converted to a number out of 100. Kotaku does not.
Sales aren't everything, apparently. Let's face it, Modern Warfare 2 was advertised a lot more and was a giant hype train, which is why it broke pre-sale records. Unfortunately, it disappointed a lot of people, and the PC version is apparently gimped down to being a console port with mouse and keyboard support due to the lack of dedicated servers and sporting the same player cap of 18. I still play it a lot. I've already prestiged once and I'm currently level 36, there's just too many freaking campers who can't play the game properly and death feels cheap. Coming back to Killzone 2 or Uncharted 2 online is always fresh for me. It's not a bad game by any means, it's just that... Call of Duty caught Haloitis.

Question is, should we reset the Poll for what we think should be GOTY for this year (2010)?
My bets are on Halo Reach/Portal 2 to be honest, but I honestly want HGSS to win it :D

Sounds like a good idea, the admins could hopefully help me out on this, because I'm really not active on the forums anymore.Chase wrote:Question is, should we reset the Poll for what we think should be GOTY for this year (2010)?

Uh, if anyone is planning to buy (or even bother to play) C&C 4, don't. Don't play that game, they made it worse, somehow. ;_; But if you ask my thought about GOTY '10, I would vote for Portal 2. (at the moment)
