How do you know it's Soldier - Demoman? I think it's more related to this:

People speculate that it's a new game mode, but I doubt it. I think these sounds will only play if one of your friends is on the other team.

I re-read the blog today, and one bit caught my attention:

What I got from this is that there is one weapon that both sides are fighting for. Since everyone seems to think that each side has their own secret weapon, I thought I would point this out.

I really don't like the 3rd winner.
