70% good 30% bad.
Bad in the sense of the drum set-up being my major disappointment.
As well was some things are very clear.
But overall, a good success.

"Guitar" Hero...
Yeah this is totally ripping off rockband. Although RB was ripping of GH in a way i guess. Either way it looks good.

From what I have read, the gameplay and related technical stuff isn't quite as good as RB2, but the songlist is better
so, take your pick
(also, the RB and GH:WT instruments work with each other, so if you already have RBs plastic instruments, you can just buy the standalone game GH:WT and are good to go)

I think it will be great. They should add in a little bit more new songs though.

You're kidding right? I can almost guarantee that you didn't play it enough on the PS3 to be sure that it sucks. I smell bias!NovaSpartan19 wrote:I just played it today at BestBuy and for the PS3 and it SUCKS i know its the PS3 though because i am really good at guitar hero 3 for the xbox360(beaten expert) so i know it will be good for the Xbox-360

Guitar Hero lags on certain TVs, mainly HDs. Probably that, and just required synching.NovaSpartan19 wrote:I just played it today at BestBuy and for the PS3 and it SUCKS i know its the PS3 though because i am really good at guitar hero 3 for the xbox360(beaten expert) so i know it will be good for the Xbox-360

That's interesting. I've played guitar hero 3 on the PS3 and 360 quite a bit, and they are literally the exact same...

Actually, I think I might have to take my cousin's side on this. the PS3's controllers are too laggy me, even if it's a millisecond off, there's still some amount of delay. Also, to be honest, I've had more success with the games for the Xbox 360, and no, I'm not a fanboy. I happen to love the PS3 quite a bit.
Also, if you haven't figured it out, Novaspartan19 is my cousin.

Like has been said earlier in the thread, it's probably just a set up thing in the options that needs to be done (Every TV has a different response time (as in how long it takes the data to get from the PS3 to the screen to be displayed).Snuggletummy wrote:Actually, I think I might have to take my cousin's side on this. the PS3's controllers are too laggy me, even if it's a millisecond off, there's still some amount of delay. We set it up. We set it up may times. The delay is horrible. I know what I'm talking about.Luminaflare wrote:Like has been said earlier in the thread, it's probably just a set up thing in the options that needs to be done (Every TV has a different response time (as in how long it takes the data to get from the PS3 to the screen to be displayed).Snuggletummy wrote:Actually, I think I might have to take my cousin's side on this. the PS3's controllers are too laggy me, even if it's a millisecond off, there's still some amount of delay. Quite frankly, Guitar Hero wouldnt survive without these hcanges, otherwise it would be seen as obsolete my the casual audience, not interested in recording their own tracks.Luminaflare wrote:"Guitar" Hero...
Yeah this is totally ripping off rockband.
And the drums look tons better than Rockband's anyway.

Question, is it like RockBand where you can calibrate the audio and the video lag separately?Snuggletummy wrote:We set it up. We set it up may times. The delay is horrible. I know what I'm talking about.
If yes, then you just suck at calibrating.

Pah, you guys complaining about milliseconds of delay. You should have tried being a producer before the advent of zero-latency recording gear.
But yes, I quite like the idea of the recording studio, it will probably be really cumbersome though. Well, it should be if they want it to be realistic. ;)

Woo! I've been playing it the last couple days at a friends, and it's everything I hoped for. The recording studio was a bit of a let down though. I was having a hard time tuning the guitar how I wanted it, and most of the time the four of us were each producing our own hideous sounds that didn't quite mesh with the others hidious sounds. Meh, maybe if I had some time to practice alone I would appreciate it more. Everything else was awesome though, I love the new tap pad on the guitar, and I have no complaints about the game play or any of the instruments.

Question: With GHMix, do you need to lay down a riff, or can you just tap one note/chord in, shuffle forward half a second, then tap in the next? I'm not the best at Guitar Hero, but I do have patience, so I'd find the editor a lot easier to work with if this is possible.

The latter, you can pretty much do whatever you want in it. It just takes some practice and getting used to.

Yeah. The kid named "NovaSpartan19" who has a Halo avatar and sig set isn't biased? Gimme a break.
On topic, I really want it, though I don't think that the PS2 version of it omes with the track editor. It probably does, and if it does, that's an even bigger incentive o get it.

My roommate has it for the PS3, and it is really awesome. I love the layout of the drum set, and the slider on the guitars is really fun to use. The set list could have been a bit better, but there are a lot of songs that are very fun to play. (Satch Boogie is evil on expert guitar.) I haven't tried GHMix yet, but I will soon.
Also, we have never had any latency problems when hooking up the PS3 to our projector and configuring the video lag.
