I never really got into it. On the few occasions I've tried to watch some just to get some geek cred, I've had to force my way through a few episodes before I get so bored with it that I have to do something else or sleep. It seems to me to be a conglomeration of every anime in existence, and doesn't bring anything that hooks me in.

I don't watch anime much, but the few I've enjoyed are Cowboy Bebop, FLCL and Neon Genesis Evangelion.

I'm not really into Cowboy Bebop that much but I really enjoy animes like Death Note, Trinity Blood and Elfen Lied.

Cyber City OEDO 808
A three part futuristic 'Running Man' meets 'Robo Cop', kind of... three convicts are given the choice: life in prison, or an exploding collar and the OEDO Police's toughest (read: suicidal) assignments. Each episode focuses on one of the team, and each is violent, action packed, and brilliant fun.

For fans of: Cyber Punk, Futuristic Booms, Transvestites with Bad Attitudes.

The Guyver: Bio Booster Armour
Now, there are two versions here: The OAV Anime adaptation of the manga, which changes and shortens and mangles a little (but is still fun), and the more recommended from me reboot series which stays much more faithful to the Manga and is richer for it.

Basic premise is a typical one - School boy stumbles upon strange artefact that transforms him into a deadly killing machine. The company that lost the device send their genetically enhanced mutant/monster soldiers after him. lots of bloodshed ensues. Fantastic.

For fans of: Mechs, Genetic Engineering, Human Origin Retelling.

Æon Flux
Now, this isn't really anime as it's not from the region, but it's probably the most badass animated show of all time. Uniquely original design and storytelling results in a high-octane, surreal, and wonderfully pretentious universe unlike anything you've ever experienced. Two nations are in conflict. Æon Flux is an agent of the nation of Monica who's job is to infiltrate the neighboring country of Bregna, which is led by the genius scientist Trevor Goodchild. A love/hate story wrapped in some of the most bizarre situations and tales. Peter Chung's creation is vibrant and full of colour, very highly recommended.

For fans of: Avant Garde, Moral Ambiguity, Sexy assassins and bondage gear.

I'll just list some of the stuff I like, which isn't exactly all of it.. but oh well. Magical Pokaan, Karin, Tenchi Muyo, Death Note, Trigun, Blue Gender, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Wolf's Rain, Lucky Star (If I ever get around to watch it.), Samurai Champloo, Yu Yu Hakusho, Big O, and... I forgot the rest, balls.

Call me a little kid, but one of my faves is Cardcaptor Sakura. I watched it as a little kid, rewatched it a few months ago (thanks, Internet!), and now my past five or so sigs have been from the series. I like it lots.

Bebop, Paranoia Agent, and the English dub of Shin Chan. As for films, Akira, Paprika, Tekkonkinkreet, and most anything by Miyazaki.
