Futurama Movies

Sorry if this has been a topic, but I can't be bothered sifting through old stuff to determine the fact. Anyway, I'm a big fan of Futurama, and the four films that were released from mid-last year to this year are speculated as being the last of Futurama that we will see.
I was wondering, do we have any fans of the show around? If so, state what you think of the movies, or just anything related in general. Sorry for being gone for so long; I would have posted something like this ages ago.

I tend to be the general authority on the subject around here. /me points at sig.

Anyway, in terms of the movies, I think there is a lot of good and a lot of bad.

Personally, the fourth production season was probably the weakest right before the cancellation. I wondered if the extended break would improve or decrease the quality in the production.

Bender's Big Score put most of my fears to rest, as I found it hilarious and touching.

The Beast with a Billion Backs, on the other hand, I found distant, but funny. It actually took two watchings for me not to have a weird feeling about it. The first time felt weird.

Bender's Game is probably the low point, although they do some very cool things and have a lot of good jokes.

Finally, Into The Wild Green Yonder was funny and entertaining, and the ending was great. (Although, arguably worse than Devil's Hands left the series.)

If this is the last Futurama I see, I think I'll be pleased. To echo my sentiments from before, I found the fourth season to be a marked low point for the show, although there were many classic episodes. (But for every one of those, Bend Her, Bender Should Not Be Allowed on TV, and Kif Gets Knocked Up a Notch SPANISH FRY? Come on!). I found the movies to be even a bit worse than that, with the exception of the first one, which was astounding, and the last, which was solid. However, if the series is to be continued, I believe that a televised format will benefit the show.

And for reference, my top fifteen, in no order:
Less Than Hero
Where No Fan Has Gone Before
Future Stock
Jurassic Bark
The Birdbot of Ice-Catraz
The Luck of the Fryrish
Insane in the Mainframe
The Deep South
Crimes of the Hot
War Is The H-Word
I, Roommate
When Aliens Attack
Love's Labours Lost In Space
Hell is Other Robots
Mars University.

I do agree that the fourth season lacked something that the other seasons had. Season Three was the best season for me. I am yet to find a copy of Bender's Game for sale anywhere. I do agree with you, Slaps, about Bender's Big Score and Into The Wild Green Yonder. In fact, all of your points accurately reflect my own!
EDIT: At the risk of sounding like a wussy man, were you emotionally effected at the end of Jurassic Bark, Slaps? I know that I was.

I was. It was very touching, especially for its genre. Ditto the one with the holophone.

Ahaha. There has never been a time where I viewed that episode and didn't cry. I used to have a promo CD of Christopher Tyng's compositions, and at the end there was the song . "I Will Wait For You", and even that could bring me to tears.

Jurrasic bark was a really sad episode, particullarly the end

I am a huge futurama fan and got all the episodes and movies. I have to say i was disappointed at the end of the last movie, it pretty much meant no more futurama ever :(

The movies are a mixed bag. Bender's Big Score is the only one that's well written IMO, and the voice acting is flawless. Basically, it's the only one that measures up to the best of the series, and even than it's more like a Mutant Leela's Teenage Hurdles than it is a Jurassic Bark.

Beast with a Billion Backs has some of the best jokes of the four, but it is just so... weird, like Slappy said.

I hated Bender's Game. The best part about it was the title, everything else seemed so forced. Especially the Star Wars bit towards the end, didn't fit at all in my opinion.

Into the Wild Green Yonder would be the second best to me. The voice acting and writing strays from time to time - that Waterfall lesbian bitch was extremely annoying - but it's got some awesome humour. Ultimately, would have prefred Devil's Hands as a closer, but this'll do.

No love for Parasites Lost?

Quick top five, in no order:
Brannigan Begin Again
War is the H-Word
Jurassic Bark
The Devil's Hands are Idle Playthings
A Pharaoh to Remember

I really like the movies, and am definitely glad they made more of Futurama. The first was probably my favourite. The others seemed too abstract, kinda.
I still think the Devil's Hands was the best ending they can ever get though. Funny, musical, entertaining; that episode was awesome.

War is the H-word is definetly my favorite, particularly because of the newspaper article title. :p

I haven't watched them all in so long, but I remember The Farnsworth Parabox being a great one. Also, I liked all the ones Slappy said. Oh yes, and The Sting.
