It's easy to haiku.
Just five-seven-five will do.
Any more is prose.

I think I'll try and write one
It won't be good, though

I can do this now;
I'm getting the hang of it
Maybe I'll turn pro?

Thanks to my rudimentary Japanese, here I present you a true 俳句 haiku of my own writing. The 5-7-5 form refers to 音字 onji, the syllables used in traditional Japanese haiku.

Here are some deep, good, and deeply good haikus I wrote a few years ago.
Hope Awakens
Lonely isle of pain
Stands among naught; daylight dawns
Shimmering like glass.
Optimistic Simplistic
Heights of waterfalls
Rip through skylines; leaves float on
Like fearless Vikings.

Hmm, one of the two. I don't think I actually wrote it, but I heard it somewhere.

Also, Life, wow. I like the second one a lot.

My English teacher and I had a haiku-off:
She wrote:You cannot touch this.
Cause I'm too legit to quit.
Stop! It's hammertime!
vs.
I wrote:Baby, bye bye bye.
I can't sing; I'm in a band.
Now I only rap.
BONUS LIMERICK!

If ever you see a tornado
Put on your head a wooden ladle.
And cower in fear
As the whirlwind draws near
For cows will come innumerable.
