my IE on windows vista, toshiba, doesn't show any images, and I do not know why.

now, don't gimme any of this 'right click and choose image' crap, I have tried that and it didn't work.

I can't see sigs, but I can see avvies.

could somebody shed some light on the subject.

and just recently, jacks sig showed up it's awesome btw but no other images showed up, I was on his sig topic, I tried reloading the map and all that that did was make his sig go away.

it shows up as an 'X' and then next to that 'image' in abox'

I don't know what the problem is, but I do have an excellent fix for it:
*start imagining this in the 'adopt an African orphan commercial voice'*
Stop using IE, go with something that web developers don't hate like Firefox, Chrome, or Opera, because for every person that switches away from IE, one less web developer jumps off a cliff. Won't you do your part to save web developers everywhere, it costs literally nothing.

What version of Internet Explorer are you using? (Help > About Internet Explorer)
Are you behind any proxies? Do you use any adblocking software or add-ons? Can you see images on other websites? In other signatures on other forums? Can you see the Metanet Forums banner at the top of the page? Can you see the ads underneath it?

I can see those, and your sig.

It seems likely to me that you're behind either a firewall, proxy or parental filter that blocks certain image hosting sites. That would account for being able to see the ads (projectwonderful.com), the banner (therealn.com) and my sig (the.t.dawg.googlepages.com).

Can you see my sig and avvie? they're hosted from www.ce-int.net, which oughtn't to be blocked by any filtering systems.

Uh, what about the display options in board preferences? Have you opted to display signatures?
