hi guys

Okay, so I've been getting into math rock (just a few albums, really) and I really like it. The offbeat time signatures and the music that changes tempo instantly is a joy to listen to. But to be honest, I don't know where to go from here.

So, Metanet, do you have any recommendations with this genre?

My current listening set is on the following:
Ride the Fader - Chavez
A Forest of Polarity - Rooftops
Unutella - nuito
Standards - Tortoise
American Don - Don Caballero
Mirrored - Battles

Dammit, I was going to suggest Don Caballero and Tortoise, ut I see you already have them. Either way, I really liked Don Caballero's For Respect, and Beacons of Ancestorship by Tortoise is quickly becoming my new favourite album. If you were willing to expand your library without finding new artists, those two albums would be very much worth it.

I totally just read that as, "I'd hate to be the only black guy stuck using v1.4."

Huh. I never knew tortoise was that math-rocky. I'll have to check out that album. Millions now living will never die is beautiful, though, if you're wanting to check out any more of them.

I'll second Yank Crime. It didn't really fit my tastes but it's a quality album.

Okay, err, wow. A huge response. Thanks a bunch guys. I'll get on listening to these. (I'll update the thread sporadically with my progress, I guess).
