I would get all their music but particularly the albums Kid A, OK Computer and The Bends. Thom Yorke's solo album The Eraser is also definitely worth a look I'm quite heavily into it at the moment.

Radiohead aren't exactly a singles band so I'm disregarding your request for songs and instead giving you albums.

OK Computer is fairly widely regarded to be Radiohead's magnum opus, and it's what I started with. 'Electioneering' comes from OK Computer, but in style it's really more of a throwback to their previous album, The Bends, which is their best album as far as straightforward rock songs go.

I'd say start from The Bends and then go chronologically on to OK Computer and Kid A, which is an experimental electronic album that's far removed from OK Computer and even further from The Bends.

Actually, for kicks, I will give you some songs, but they will all be B-sides: Banana Co, The Trickster, Pearly*, Fog, Cuttooth, Gagging Order, Go Slowly.

Valid point, and completely correct. I'm not a huge listener of Radiohead, but I never actually said that I was.

If you are just looking for good singles, a 'best of' album is the best thing to get. :/

I think that that singles collection tries to marginalize Radiohead songs that don't necessarily have pop appeal, because that's what Greatest Hits do, and there are many superb songs that do not have Pop appeal. for instance, the best of without the bonus disk is missing The National Anthem and Exit Music and Let Down, all essential tunes. And it's missing all of In Rainbows, which is superb.

Yeah I wouldn't go for a 'Best Of' or singles collection with Radiohead it's not really that kind of music. The albums are all highly conceptual and as such are designed have common themes and atmosphere running through them. Each album has its own sound and the tracks on it are designed to be listened to in a particular order taking them out of context and mixing up tracks from across the lifespan of Radiohead (just listen Pablo Honey and the In Rainbows and you'll see how much their style has changed) you lose a lot of what makes the band unique. They've never really had any hit singles (except maybe creep) they are only known for their albums instead, Kid A arguably their greatest work (competing only with OK computer in my eyes) didn't have any singles because they didn't want the tracks to be heard out of context. The Best of compilation album for instance was made with no input from the band to fulfil a contractual agreement and members of the band have voiced disapproval of it. I think you'd do much better to get one of the main albums I listed above and just listen to it through a few times to see if you like them enough to get more they don't really do filler if you're worried about that.

Yes I like it to I think its underrated despite being quite amateur there is some really great stuff on there You, Anyone Can Play Guitar and Prove Yourself are really great tunes. If you haven't heard Itch you should get it it's from around that period probably the best of the early EP's
