Big fan of World of Goo. That's the only game (I think) in which the soundtrack actually grabbed my attention. Oh, maybe with the exception of Super Mario Galaxy in places.

Star Wars would be the obvious one, Batman (the Tim Burton one) has an awesome score as well.
Madagascar 2 has a cool soundtrack courtesy of will.i.am.
As far as video games go, I wouldn't be able to pick any specific titles out of Nintendo's archived music. It's all just so wonderful.

Requiem for a dream's various pieces by clint mansell are amazing. The end music for 28 days later is also pretty sweet.

Any 8-bit Pokemon tune hits me with a nostalgia bomb and a half. Zelda music is also good, and Sonic the Hedgehog too.

Forgot to mention one. Anybody played the new Prince of Persia game? The music is just incredible. I would get the soundtrack for my iPod if I knew where to find it (or if it even exists as a computer file). Best music ever.

I'm a very big fan of the Corpse Bride music, first off. Plus, based roughly on the number of songs in my "awesome music" playlist, but in no order... the Lion King, Stardust, Treasure Planet, Let the Right One In, Svidd Neger, Hancock, Horton Hears A Who, Jumper, Wall-E, the Incredibles, parts of Star Wars, Johnny English, Finding Nemo, the Fabulous Destiny of Amelie Poulain.
For anyone who begs to differ with my selection of Disney, the composers are actually decent and well-known for not being with Disney. Pixar doesn't count anyway.
If I had to choose a favourite... I'd have no clue. I just love it all.

In terms of films, just about anything by John Williams and Joe Hisaishi, LOTR, The Godfather Trilogy, Lawrence of Arabia, The Third Man and Little Miss Sunshine.
In terms of games,
In terms of games,
and pretty much all of the FIFA games, like Izzy said.Pheidippides wrote:Any 8-bit Pokemon tune hits me with a nostalgia bomb and a half

Vya, holy fuck, we are the same person. That is /the best/ music /ever/. I /love/ the /shit/ out of that theme.
Since Pheidi hasn't seen this thread yet, I will mention the obligatory Pokemon stuff. I'm not sure whether this is actually good music or if I'm just conditioned to like it due to my childhood. Finished reading.
As for movies, I love LotR's track, especially the bits involving Rohan in TTT. My exact favorite moment, to elaborate, is the few opening notes played as Aragorn, Gimli, and Legolas first approach Edoras. (There's a flag flapping, everyone looks sad, a board breaks or something.) Very sad, very moving, very elegant.
Oh and of course Star Wars.

Um.
Yeah, I love the Rohan music, but nothing in LOTR beats the beacon scene music imo.

Is that the one with Sigur Ros music? Or it was introduced with Sigur Ros music at an E3 or... something to do with Prince of Persia and Sigur Ros.OutrightOJ wrote:Forgot to mention one. The one I'm thinking of was the 2008 one, for which Inon Zur and Stuart Chatwood composed the music. Brilliant stuff. Is that the one with Sigur Ros music? Or it was introduced with Sigur Ros music at an E3 or... something to do with Prince of Persia and Sigur Ros.
