PLEASE BE AWARE
I, Simian and Beats Like Hours are exactly the same as the versions that were previously available. We've decided to start charging for our first EP, which is why we're moving the tracks over to the 7digital site.

DO NOT pay for the old tracks. Everyone on this forum is welcome to a free copy of the entire first EP. As mentioned below, PM me if you would like one.

ONLY pay for the two new tracks 'Origins' and 'A Scar'.

Buy

Two new tracks from us:

Origins of a sure fire
A scar, An abode

Plus two from our previous EP:

I, Simian
Beats Like Hours

-

We'll be listing the rest of the old EP for sale soon, but for you guys I'll hand that out free. Let me know if you want via PM.

-

If you DL and like, please leave us some feedback on the 7digital page.

Thanks <3

Never could really get into this style of music (I can't deal with the vocals) but that Mars-Volta-esque bit in the second clip is hot as fuck.

Fuck yes! You are among my favorite non-Dashiell Dunn musicians, atob, and this just reinforces that. I actually have friends that ask me when there's going to be new material because I played I, Simian at a party I had last year and it was a hit.

Very stoked.

It's funny you should say that, because it is cool!

I hope you watched the video on their homepage. You can stream music from bandcamp, distribute music (for a price, for free, or for a donation) and no advertising! They even allow you to use a custom domain (i.e. theforestandthefire.bandcamp.com) if you have one.

I'd consider it, if I were you. Plus, stats!

No, I don't work for them, but I've never seen a bad-oriented music hosting website that has done things so well.

Woah Woah Woah.
How has no one mentioned the freakin' awesome album art yet? I want that on my iPod.

I know, I've just realise just how awesome this place is. Serious thank yous. We'll probably be selling tracks from here in the future. The stats page is an absolutely amazing tool.

And thanks again, I'm really proud of the artwork. :) It'll be appearing on various merch items (physical copies of the EP, Tshirts, badges, stickers, etc...) asap.

We were thinking about 50p a track, will confirm before release.

Merch will be kept as low as possible. Hopefully we can avoid the usual (ridiculous) £15-20 per tshirt that most bands try for. We don't want to skimp on quality though, so we'll have to find a decent balance. Under a tenner would be preferable. We're certainly not going to get greedy with it, we really just want to make enough to keep merch production constant. As our recording fees are 0 (our guitarist takes care of all production), we're already in a decent position for it.

All other merch will be really cheap or given away free (badges, stickers, posters etc..) depending on the success of other sales. I'll hopefully be able to sort you guys out some free bits and pieces when it's all done if you're interested.

What about those of us in the States? Will we be able to buy? I'm not sure how a purchase could work with different currency, let alone shipping overseas for merch. :(

Paypal handles the exchange rate automatically, so that won't be a problem.

I'm not sure about shipping for physical items, but I'll be happy to help out anyone from the forum if needed. Perhaps if few are interested I could send to one and they could send on from there to keep it minimal.

I have some friends in the US who might be able to act as a relay point for stuff, I'll see what I can work out.

Seconded. As much as this style isn't quite my favourite, there were bits in both that I genuinely liked listening to.

Download worked for me (though I haven't yet listened) and it's meant to be just a sample.
Edit: listened and liked.

Oh, gotcha.

Well, the first one isn't the best you have, but the second is great.
