Just asking. My favorites are rock, techno, breakbeat, and alternative. Country a close one, though.

I chose Rock, Metal, Alternative, and Other, for lack of a better choice, for Punk. But there are so many genres missing here that I think this could have stood to not be a poll.

I agree, Slaps.
Rock, alternative, other, Instrumental.

I chose other because I deleted all the genres on my computer. They weren't descriptive enough.

Oh, this old thing.

Where's the funk? Where's the jazz? Where's the hardcore?

Metal and Rock are the only genres that I listen to.

haha indie is such a stupid term. it can mean whatever the hell anyone wants it to mean, and it sounds cool, so heaps of bands and.. promotion people.. use it all the time, i remember about 6 months ago, some band that had had at least two singles reach the top 10 in aus in recent times was called indie in a TV ad. heh.

exactly, i technically class indy rock as soft rock, because it basically is rock, just not as hardcore, and the words tend to be more of the music than the instrumental sounds.

Indie is a silly term that has come to represent a genre. Sure, lots of rock musicians produce music on independant labels, but only those with a certain sound are considered "indie rock". So, I definitely consider it it's own genre.

Hmm, you're missing a couple hundred genres or so.

Also, it irks me when people use "techno" as an umbrella term.

now you are missing "drum n bass"...

and losttortuga, I know 'techno' is an umbrella term. but think of it as either have:
dance, house, electro, hard house, trance etc
or tecnho...

... in general i like techno.
I also picked other, hip hop, instramental.

EDIT: I can submit votes again for some reason...
EDIT AGAIN: actually it just appears that way, but it doesn't change the votes

Ugh, practically anything. A brief spectrum of the albums I own.

> Radiohead: Best Of
> KT Tunstall: Eye Of The Telescope
> A bunch of my dad's old CDs, ripped Freebird, Ace Of Spades, 20th Century Boy amongst others.
> Fratellis, got for my birthday ages ago
> Muse: Everything they own.

I mostly enjoy Christian alternative music. Pillar, TFK, and Skillet are examples of what I listen to.

I only listen to 90s Christian Rock: DC Talk, Newsboys and Jars of Clay.

SlappyMcGee EDIT: Creed have been active since 1995. Don't make this mistake next time.

I'm choosing not to vote, but instead I'll state that the genres I least like listening to are heavy metal, hardcore rock, and really depressing stuff. I'm a fan of just about everything else, though Pop can sometimes be a drag.

I voted for breakbeat, alternative, classic, and instramental, because they are all stupid genres to have on a poll.

Rock, Metal, Classical, and Instrumental. Pretty much anything is alright. And I can't believe Pop wasn't included.

I chose Other because I listen to progressive rock music a lot.

What? Classical is a perfectly reasonable option to have.

Provided, of course, that people are specifically noting classical music as about the 1700s, and post-classical which is modern music in a classical style; if so we'll be fine.

Hm. I didn't even consider that it might mean 'classical'—I was thinking classic rock or something.
