Just wondering how many of you guys have surround sound. I've got 7.2 (:D) at the moment, and I'm listening to all my surround sound album mixes, they significantly better imo. (Especially all of Porcupine Tree's ones and Systematic chaos by Dream Theater)

Unless you've got a special release, you CD audio is still only going to be dual channeled and you won't be able to take full advantage of your 7.1 surround. There are exceptions, of course. You can listen to Drum's Not Dead by Liars in 5.1 with the accompanying DVD.

I have plenty of special editions with their 5.1 mix dvds ;) (The Fear of a Blank Planet one even won the grammy for best 5.1 mix)

We do... but we never actually use it, so I didn't vote. It's awesome though. :D

I'm currently running a 4.2 (two 2.1's running together). In the past though I've bodged some amazing surrounds. I think the biggest was a 9.2, though I doubt that any of these speakers actually acted as surrounds and were probably just 9 speakers all playing the same sounds. XD Surrounds are great though. We also have a proper 5.1 in the living room which sounds great when we are playing movies.

I had 4.1 but one of the speakers broke so it's 2.1 now.

I have a 7.1 setup in my studio for when I occaisionally do surround mixes. Obviously when I'm not, I just use the woofer and one of the tweeters to get a balanced stereo output.

I have 5.2 (two 10" subs in 180 degree opposition). I have quite a few SACD and DVDs with 5.1 sound, and the effect is impressive. Unfortunately, due to the weird shape of my living room, the front speakers are at about 135 degrees to the rear speakers, not 180 as they should be. This will be resolved eventually, when I move the nice stereo to the basement; for now I've minimized the effect by calibrating volumes and delay times.

I've got 5.1 for my computer. Sadly, the complicated wiring and the position of my room renders the surround speakers useless. Everything's in front of me.

This is why after painting my room I shuffled it so I conveniently had things to put the speakers on behind me ;)

Sensurround sound in a 2 inch wall!

I havesurround system but not sing it,because one part is missing,I'm gonna buy that later.

I've got some Logitech's 5.1 surround system for 1 or 2 years, but so as George, I'm not actually surrounded by them.
