Escape the fate
more for you that like metal/screamo, great stuff to mosh to, and good voices and guitar. a bit like bullet, but cooler and less mainstream. better screaming too.

The Calm Blue Sea

Relatively new post-rock band, they're quite good.

Probably my latest awesome find would be Beardfish, a contemporary young progressive rock band with a particularly classic sound. Latest album is my second top album for the year.

Another new one I like is Textures, a progressive death metal band, sort of like a cross between Tool and Meshuggah. Their new album is positively brilliant.

If you like electronic, you should check out Justice. I've been listening to their debut album lately and it's pretty good, except for the songs where they sing. :P

Tegan and Sara. They're twins from Canada, and they almost compete with each other in songwriting. Also, their concerts have a very conversational tone between songs.

So much Black Holes and Revelations. So mainstream. Time Is Running Out (live 2004). So shuffle dance.

Also.

Great, it's been 10 minutes and I'm hooked onto Envy on the Coast already. =)

I'd have to recommend a band called Sherwood. Really a great band, check em out.

Their Myspace

A YouTube video on their song "Song in My Head"
The video's really something else, very intriguing.

By the End of Tonight - myspace

They're a really interesting band. It's kinda like if you took Pelican, or some heavier post-rock, and then sped it up to about twice as fast.

Here's a song for you - Setting Sail in April

Gorillaz. The first band I really got into. They have a large variety of genres covered in their music, so there has to be something you like.

i have three bands to recommend:

falling up - Christian alternative rock - their first album especially.

iLiKETRAiNS - Post-rock - songs about events from the past. very nice atmospheres.

Nyktalgia - Suicidal Black Metal - very creative; probably my favourite band.
