Hello World! I'm currently creating a forum about music. Now this isn't your go-simple "Audio" discussion in a basic forum. What I mean is that this is a real big forum specialized in music.
The forum ranges from simple music discussion where you can talk about your favorite bands and/or songs, to an archive where you can share your own tracks within a proper genre (i.e. Post-Rock!). You also have a special "Arena" where music challenges are proposed to you and an Off-Topic section where you can chill with a can of coke and lol while playing forum games.

This isn't exactly promoting, but it's just sharing a wider range of posting choices than a simple topic.

Are you going to design a classy skin which will entice in members? At the moment it feels about as unhomely as I can imagine.

Especially considering that the link is broken.

With all due respect, this won't work. It never works. "Music" is a ridiculously broad topic for a forum and you'd need a huge community to sustain it. Where are all the people going to come from? You can promote your forum, but no-one's going to stick around because there's nothing there. It seems like a catch-22: you can't get people to join and stay without an active forum with a significant community, but you can't get the community if people don't join. You can get around this, but not with the kind of forum you've got at the moment. You need to fulfil a need and offer a place to discuss a unique topic. There's nothing unique about "music".

It's cool that you've got the enthusiasm and you want to do something like this, but I hope you don't waste your time going down a dead-end like this. I strongly suggest you go back to the drawing board and come up with a more focused idea with a narrower scope.
