Haha. It's good that you do, I suppose. You can't rely on anyone else to.

People write to me and say, "I’m giving up, you’re not talking to me." I just write them a simple message like, "Never give up," you know? And it changes their life

Listed in alphabetical order:

Anberlin
Emery
Flyleaf

My favorite band would have to be Emery mainly based off of their newest album, but I just love their sound.

Right now?

(no order)

Animal Collective
Grizzly Bear
Spoon
!!!
Air
The Bird and The Bee (kinda)
Daft Punk (sometimes)
Fatboy Slim (OMGOMGOMG kinda)
Badly Drawn Boy (kinda trying to get into it)

Of all times? It's not permanent at all.

dEUS
Calexico
This Mortal Coil
Jazzanova
Tuxedomoon
Gorillaz
Daft Punk
Durutti Column
Animal Collective
Radiohead
Sigur Rós

uuh, my brain is in a musical revolution right now. Spoon's "Get Nice!" is awesome, but the other album I have from them is kinda not-so-good ("Girls Can Tell"). The Bird and The Bee and Badly Drawn Boy are both good, but neither makes me all excited like !!!'s "Myth Takes" or Spoon's "Leave Your Effects Where They're Easily Seen". Fatboy Slim is good for excitation... but it doesn't last for long. Just about one listen to the album and I'm kinda done with it for the day. Grizzly Bear is awesome, but I only have one album of them, so I can't really say if they're on my top 10 or not.

Daft Punk is fun no matter how my mood is, how the weather is, how headphones suck or how the day's been going. It just works every fucking single time. One listen to Aerodynamic, Harder Better FS, Superheroes, some pop-y High Life and end with Something About Us and a hella awesome finale with Voyager. I do realize I only have one album from them, but man, this Discovery album is so filled with good stuff.

dEUS? Pop-Rock thing that made me love rock music. Where can I start? Suds & Soda makes me scream out loud. So does Dissapointed in the Sun, so does Fell off the Floor, Man. Their last album ain't so awesome (Slow was a good single though), but the other 4 fucking awesome albums make up for it.

Tuxedomoon is...aagh, I can't really explain it. It's awesome-weird-jazzy-classy stuff. I should highlight songs like No Tears, Atlanti-- *urgent need of Tuxedomoon listening*, Atlantis, Seeding the Clouds, Nervous Guy, Joeboy the Electronic Ghost, The Stranger (oh man, oh man, oooh man), FIfth Column (I'm listening to it right now, and I'm almost having a fucking orgasm). Then there's every other song from them. I dunno, I just can't fucking say shit about them, because they're exceptional.

This Mortal Coil is sublime. I've tried to find similar bands to This Mortal Coil, but I found nothing. With This Mortal Coil, you can't/shouldn't specify a song - you should specify a fucking album, cause all the three albums have an awesome line of fluidity. Filigree & Shadow is my favorite, hands down. Starting with the smooth violins on Velvet Belly and then going to the sad and beautiful The Jeweller, the dream-making properties of Meniscus and the charm of Tears, followed by a strong Tarantula with awesome piano sounds... I could go on with every song of it. They're that amazing. Oh, I said nothing about the vocals? Yeah, you guessed. Perfect.

Calexico was /the/ band that introduced me to the real world of music. I can't say I listen to them so much now, with all the new bands I've been discovering, but every time I fire up Stucco, Black Heart, Pepita and Not Even Steve Nicks mix, it still sounds as awesome as it always sounds.

Aaah, now I'm tired of doing this. So for the others, Jazzanova is funky-jazzy-prettygoodmixed. Sigur Rós and Radiohead... you guys all know the reasons and Animal Collective is just amazingly awesome. Gorillaz was another band that led me to love music as I now do, and they're still as awesome as they were before. Durutti Column...is kind of the big doubt there. It is cool, and amazing to hear sometimes... but I think I've grown kinda tired of it.

Anyway, maybe I'll finish this decently another day, or not.

I know Day & Age isn't up to par with Sam's Town but it's not terrible. It's right there with Hot Fuss.

imo, Hot Fuss and Sam's Town were about tied.
Day and Age was simply horrible, terrible, and awful.
