N+ on XBLA: Playing w/ a local friend AND an online friend?

Hi,

I swear I've done this before, but I could not do it last night. How do I play a coop game with a mix of local friends and friends via XBox Live? I have one friend sitting next to me on the couch. Another is 500 miles away. It seems like I can only create a local coop game, or an online coop game. I *know* I've done this before, but I can't figure out how to do it in the menus. Whenever I create a local game, I don't have the option to invite a friend. When I create an online game, I don't have the option to add a local player.

Any help appreciated.
