Mines are very rarely obnoxious and are usually "annoying" because it's there to increase difficulty. Despite what people may think, mines are not only used as a superficial object for aesthetics, but also to provide genuine danger.
What's with the whole Onyxisemerges thing?
Wasn't he an old user?
I once played a game called Underwater Assault;
the objective is to insert your pointer finger into your opponent's belly button.
Maps today are all the same. They have the shredded 2367 look, and play the same, with some gauss and thwump and mine and rocket and bounceblock. It is boring. It takes great amount of time to spot a nice map which is new and innovative and fun, above all (Well, I can excuse a standard map if it's done really well). Standard mush keeps basic N needs checked but to get fullfillment you have to almost make your own.

People don't dare to place objects or make tiles the way they haven't made before, or to break these "aesthetic rules". When have you last seen rocket placed next to wall, Oneways next to objects or Floorguads next to wall. This spacious idea in which everything has to be secluded is dulling down mapping.

Be brave, slam objects onto a map without caring about aesthetics. You may only succeed once out of ten tries but that one map is worth more than standardized mush.

Most maps look boring and dull too.
Make a list with maps not to be featured.

The dynamics for this thread will be quite simple, NUMA's quotes will be added periodically, 5 by 5, when they appear for the first time they will not carry along with them the indication about those who wrote, when adding the next 5, the previous will get the names of those who said them. Members and readers, feel free to guess, opine or comment, or even post your own quotes that you found at NUMA.

I'm pretty sure we have this for things like that. Or is that just for IRC?

I think them are quite different things. This one it's for NUMA and from another perspective.

None of those quotes are even interesting.

0/10 : Would not read again.

EDIT: And presumably you mean "This one it's for NUMA and from my perspective."

EDIT2: you should make a tumblr for this if you are going to do it, it'll be cleaner and make a whole lot more sense and people like me can ignore it easier.

The #N IRC Quotes Repository is primarily for quotes from #N IRC.

(Almost) always okay: quotes from #N, quotes from other channels on mountai.net
Usually okay: quotes from community members in other chat venues
Not okay: quotes not from a chat context (e.g. NUMA, the forums, etc.), quotes not from community members or mountai.net
