Data was collected by brute-force searching for the first and last map of each year, and then subtracting the last map's number and the first map's number.

If 2004 were a full year it'd probably have just as many maps as 2011.

You're not counting the 4000+ deleted maps though.

The graph doesn't show how many are on NUMA for each year, but how many maps were submitted in that year. For example, say only 3000 or so maps remain in the 2004 era. There were still 4698 - 4701 maps submitted in that time frame, which is what this graph measures. Interestingly, there's three deleted maps between the "last" of '04 and the "first" of '05, so a little uncertainty is to be had.

As nice as it looks, fairly sure that joining those dots with a curvy line is mega inaccurate. In fact, I reckon this would've been better as a histogram.

How you know exactly how many maps have been deleted?
LOL. Just awesome!!
edit this excludes deleted maps
Sidke, is there any way to get the deleted/delisted maps? Also, how you make this stats as accurate, some kind of function?, program?, or statistics that have access only the moderators?

delisted, yes.
deleted, no.
delisted was added when newma came around, before that deleting deleted permanently.

and for the graph i typed random numbers into it until it looked somewhat believable

They're just there. But you can't access a specific delisted map without knowing its ID number.

NADS really needs an update, seeing as how it thinks I don't exist. And because I tried downloading all of AMLT's, PALEMOON's, Yahoozy's, euphoria's, flag's, and MCKY's maps and I didn't get all of them. I'm missing maps from each of those authors and I don't feel like tracking down all of their maps that weren't put into NADS.
Deluxcious.
