arachnid's failure to even respond to queries about NUMA being down may be the final nail in the coffin for NUMA (who knows the last time he even checked up on our community?). this site has been on the decline since the beginning of 2011, it's unlikely it will ever return to what it once was. the appointed staff has become overwhelmingly inactive (with a few exceptions), there isn't an exciting, even quality maps go largely ignored, the site design is stagnant, the community is stagnant, and the forums are stagnant (in regards to NUMA).

arachnid seems to be unwilling to give up his site to someone more capable of handling it. give the damn site to someone who cares. his refusal to cooperate is exceedingly selfish, considering how little he has done for the site in the past couple years. a successful, full-scale migration to an alternative map archive is highly unlikely.

PS - flagmyidol, shut the fuck up and don't even bother posting on my thread.

I have to agree with you, but I don't have enough info to throw Arachnid under the bus like that.

The part I don't understand is why someone hasn't taken Arachnid's place, is he the one that pays for the site or something?

i could be developing for numa except i don't give two shits for gae or the environment arachnid has developed on. it would be much easier to port numa to php and keep up than to maintain gae in its current state. it may be the alcohol talking but i seriously think that writing newma on gae was a serious mistake and the limits and quotas and the fucking restraints on querying gae gives numa were the nails on the coffin to be numa's undoing. fuckity fuck. i don't think arachnid as an employee pays anythign for numa but fuck i was up for taking arachnid's place until i saw numa's code and fuck. fuck fuck fuck i don't want to even touch that code holy shit. ASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS i dropped my phone into a canal tonight. $220 phone. gone. also i got dumped. also numa source sucks holy shittttt i mean look at it. if you were to try to learn how it works you would also cry

I'd love to take a look at it, is the source floating around somewhere? I'd be happy to help with a backend for NUMA myself, but I'm not sure how open of a possibility it is.

Also GAE doesn't compare to PHP, one is a cloud computing platform and the other is a scripting langauge. If you mean we should host our own server, then that would make sense, but also would cost a decent amount of money.

I am wondering if you will ever come back to these forums someday, read your old posts and wonder how you could possibly have been so childish.

I think we all have those moments.

Every sentiment I post on these forums gets criticized by you, and you only (for the most part). I'm sick of you, and I would be delighted if you refrained from ever speaking to me again. Thank you, kind sir.

I'm open for responses, but I'm tired of dealing with flag.

Crap? Go cite some posts and let's hash this out.

Now is the time to start using NARC you guys. It's bare bones still, but it works. I'm well surprised people haven't been using it at least temporarily at the moment.

Ok, Radium. I'm going to try and mediate here — with massive safety wink, because I got a bit tongue in cheek while typing ;-) :

This is, what? The 120,000,000,000,000th thread you've made about the end/fall/death/decline/genocide/murder/euthanasia/suspension of disbelief of numa? We all get that it's not in the best shape, but you're not raising anything we can seriously discuss. I understand the anger about the state of things, this place is/was a cool, fun community and no one wants/wanted it to go to shit, but turning the melodrama up to eleven isn't going to change anything.

Also, lashing out at arachnid is so pointless, I doubt he'll ever read anything written here now anyway, but let's be honest; only a handful of people have ever done more for this community, irregardless of the state he's left us in. And you have to accept that people, except maybe kablizzy, dude'll be here forever by the looks of things, will move on from N. Arachnid's not really done anything wrong (although i'm willing to be persuaded on this point by someone better in the know — everyone loves a good scapegoat).

ANyways; I know I still need to work on that collab, radium, and I had been gearing up to it (those maps I made recently were an attempt to rekindle some mapping abilities) but i've had a pretty hectic couple of weeks, i just got back from visiting friends on tuesday and i'm going off again today, but bear with me, errr, again?

Also flag, when I said in the MOA thread that i'd have time next week, that toally means next week now.... I'm the shittest person at getting stuff done in the world :(

Eurgh, this got ramblier than I'd meant, hey sidke! sorry to hear about your phone buddy. :(

Oh god, I'm going to regret posting this now, i had a point when i began, i think...

maybe.

It doesn't work. The reason the newest map was submitted 15 days ago is because whenever someone submits a map, it doesn't appear.
