Map Maker Guide

So I made a map maker's guide (http://jeffkillian.com/NUMA)a while back, and it's still getting pretty consistent hits. The problem is that it hasn't been updated since *2006*, and thus the majority of the links on the page are broken. Furthermore, it was written by a younger and less intelligent myself. I haven't played the game consistently in quite some time, and thus I am not up to date on anything new. Thus, I leave the option to you guys. If anybody feels the desire to go and change anything in the guide so it is more concise, relevant, or just up-to-date, I'd be up for going and adding in your edits to the page. Just an idea, seeing as people seem to be linking to it pretty continuously from various sources. It's good to see the game is still being played.

You're like some sort of legend, jeff.
Most of that advice is still good. We do need an NReality section, though.

We link it to every new user who asks for help because it's still about the best mapping guide out there.

I have no idea what this is. If somebody were to write up whatever is necessary, I would gladly put it in.scythe wrote:You're like some sort of legend, jeff.

An anti-cheatability section might be helpful, but I don't think it's that useful (even though we've found ways to cheat maps now that were thought impossible even 2 years ago).
:Q
Oh yeah, hi jeffkillian! I read your guide in 07 when I joined NUMA. :D

Well rub my nipples with sandpaper and beat my weiner with nitroglycerine. There's a name I wasn't expecting to pop up!

tktktk hung around again for a short while recently after being MIA; Kablizzy now lives with blue_tetris and still contributes and all; trib4l (used to, recently - don't know if he still does) idles on IRC but that's pretty much it; nevermore and lucidium have both been gone for a decent amount of time; Sendy's pretty much gone but is still Facebook-connected; and sweep disappeared a while ago although I think he popped up for a brief period during summer at some point.

Nevermore popped up for about a month fairly recently I think. (By recently I mean early '10.)Spawn of Yanni wrote:tktktk hung around again for a short while recently after being MIA; Kablizzy now lives with blue_tetris and still contributes and all; trib4l (used to, recently - don't know if he still does) idles on IRC but that's pretty much it; nevermore and lucidium have both been gone for a decent amount of time; Sendy's pretty much gone but is still Facebook-connected; and sweep disappeared a while ago although I think he popped up for a brief period during summer at some point.
