I don't really browse NUMA, but when I do, I usually see if it has no votes and no worthwhile comments, and I rate them so they get something out of hot maps.

Screw the other maps, they've got their attention.

^Fixed.

For me, it's largely determined by thumbnails. Then I look at the author, then comments.

I look at the thumbnail, and then inspect the map in full. I rarely find myself looking at the comments beforehand because I've found that, when it comes to a map, the only really viable conclusion is my own.

I'm with Yahoozy on this one.

Thumbnails need to be more prominent I think, as I feel people are drawn to a thumbnail when browsing NUMA than they are drawn to certain authors/ratings/comments.

The thing I don't like about thumbnails is the fact that a mapper isn't able to view the thumbnail until they submit it. I know there are ways to do this, but the large majority of mappers don't. So I don't usually place a high priority on them.

right, but if your map is beautiful in fullview then I see no reason why it would look like shit as a thumbnail. :/

Usually... author or rating has to look interesting, then I'll open it. I decide whether to play it based on the comments.

Author is by far the most important thing to me. Also, if it's not an action, I'll almost never play it.

Ha, how many n-arts have I tricked you into playing then by not tagging it? I'd imagine quite a few.

What? It's pretty obvious by the thumbnail whether it's an n-art or not o_O

That. Although if I see a map that has a great rating I'll check it out to see what's up.
