Title Searches

I want to respond to (and hopefully have a discussion on) a comment I saw on the uservoice page, and I figured it would be better to do it here.

Under the topic of title searches, southie wrote this:
southie wrote:I have talked with Arachnid about this before, and I think he is changing title searches to be keyword searches. So that if you type 'author:bubbles' it will return all maps with "bubbles" in the title. And if you were to type 'author:"swift low high"' it would return all maps with the words "swift," "low" and "high" in the title.
To which my response is: (EDITED) oh, it was just a simple typo. I didn't even think of that. Nevermind about this part then.

Second, and this is only kind of related but I've been dying to ask it for some time now, is Arachnid rejecting (and thus removing) some suggestions? Because doesn't that defeat the entire purpose of a feedback system? If you prevent a topic from being brought up at all, you cannot gauge how much the community wants it. And if the community really wants something (and these somethings are pretty obvious, I might add), you should at least allow discussion and show of support. If this rejecting really is going on, then it really doesn't sit well with me. Not at all. I feel like our community is being (illegitimately) censored.

I'm sorry, that was my fault. I am so used to typing "author:" instead of "title:" these days that I didn't even recognize my mistake. Disregard the inconvenient typos.

As for the "title:" searches, yes, hopefully they will be keyword searches for titles only. No tags or authors will come up, as that was a mistake and I'm sorry if it confused you.

D'oh! I didn't even think of that. Wow, that was an easy clarification. In light of it, I've removed the first two sections of the first post, and I should have an answer of my own to that last section soon.
