Don't really like the concept being put forward of some sort of objective quality standard for maps. It's especially worrisome when this is being used as an initial criteria, and yet is excluded during the open vote.

I'm under the impression that every time a N-art is featured, nearly all of numa start complaining. This suggests that everyone, on some level, expects certain types of maps to be featured (in this case N-arts do not qualify). So saying now that a reviewer can feature any map they want is an overstatement, because choosing certain maps will cause a large scale debate. Choosing a map that will not start a flame war should be an important aspect when considering new reviewers... and featuring a noob map will definitely cause one.

I will feature DDAs, regardless of public opinion. (But of course, they do deserve to be featured.) Just so you know.

I was attacking the fact that they will cause negative public opinions, not the fact that they don't deserve to be featured. I think the reason such maps shouldn't be chosen (especially if you're just applying for a reviewer) is because they start arguments, even though some Dda's and Narts can be considered feature worthy.

Yeah, this is stupid. Your job, as a reviewer, is to bring attention to great maps that are lacking it. Okay, fine, and also that you like. The desires of the unwashed masses don't factor into it.im_bad_at_n wrote:I'm under the impression that every time a N-art is featured, nearly all of numa start complaining. Also, I'm assuming you locked this, jerrod, and that's pretty disappointing. All that's occurred here is some disagreement with your (disturbing) decisions plus a reasonable argument and rebuttal. I get you just wanted this thread to be about deciding the next reviews, but man, you shouldn't have said that stuff about "quality" maps, then. I'll keep this locked, though, out of respect.
