I have opened this thread in order to share our knowledge of feature maps.
If you are a regular user of NUMA and maybe not a reviewer; and you want to express your feelings on which levels should be featured, spill it out. Feaured maps are a popular part of NUMA in many users lives. Here we can talk about recent featured maps.
So you want to talk about featured maps? Here’s the place to be.
Thankyou

(If you agree with what i have said then you're a nutcase. Just ue this thread to discuss feautured maps instead of flooding the map)

This thread should decide what it wants to be, if anything.
Furthermore, if an issue with featured maps comes up, a thread can be made for that purpose at that time.
If you really want to make a "suggest maps to be featured" thread, it should be its own thing.Rikaninja wrote:If you are a regular user of NUMA and maybe not a reviewer; and you want to express your feelings on which levels should be featured, spill it out.
There are no set criteria other than "the reviewer liked the map enough to feature it".Rikaninja wrote:Tell us the criteria of a featured map and I’ll add it here.
We can talk about a featured map on the map itself at NUMA.Rikaninja wrote:Here we can talk about recent featured maps.

It seems to me that this guy is creating threads on the off chance that people feel like talking about something.

Ice Climbers are awesome. Deal with it.
Firstly, forum should be thread.Rikaninja wrote:I have opened this forum in order to share our knowledge of feature maps.

Second, this is probably, out of all the threads you have created, the silliest. Reviewers are chosen for their ability to find maps worth reviewing and create an exciting review about them. If you think a map should be featured, apply to be a reviewer and review it.
Why would you want to talk about recent featured maps? That's what's confusing me; most people who come to the forums check the featured page regularly, and there is a reason there is a comments box.
I suggest from self-experience you stop creating threads.

Isnt this thread more or less the embodiment of what doesnt make a featured map? Theres no set criteria to deal with, in the same way doing art from some imaginary ruleset looks crap, usually. Its all about freedom of expression

I made a thread pretty similar to this on the old forums. I was hoping it would get moved over, but it seems that thread moving isn't going to happen anymore. It's a good idea, but you should have tried a little bit harder.
Anyway, here is the link to the thread I made before. If you want to try to continue what I've done, go for it.

Evil_Sire, you need to stop criticizing other people. Yes, he made a mistake, but the premise of his thread was good. Your post was basically nullified by epigone's link to the old Suggest a map to be featured topic, which was rather successful.
A discussion thread about featured maps is perfectly fine.

What's the big deal if someone wants to talk about featured maps. Isn't that just a good thing? Getting those maps publicised and such.
I mean sure, the criteria pitch seems a bit off, but it's not like it's impossible to work out.
Example of some criteria that would make perfect sense to me:
- Is the map not just something you really like, but something you think the whole community would like?
- Is the map something that deserves a second chance to shine?
- Is the map being featured being carefully looked upon?
etc etc.
Talking about recent featured maps on here could be a better thing than on the map itself..
Why?
Because here, it's easier to start a conversation about the map, instead of a load of comments.
Example:
1) I really liked that drone path.
2) Yeah, me too, especially in the top right corner.
3) Not only is the drone path great, it's perfect of this map.
etc etc.
Versus NUMA's:
1) Nice tiles.. 4.
2) Nice drones.. 4/5
3) I like the gold.. 4.5^
You see? Conversation on maps could work way better here.
Obviously when people flame each other's posts, they only look at cons and overlook pros.

I'd say keep it simple and use epigone's thread.

Threads aren't getting ported over..Life247 wrote:I'd say keep it simple and use epigone's thread.
So this could easily be used for that.
