Profanity is almost impossible to police effectively. The majority of the time profanity is quite harmless.Inspired wrote:I agree with Radium, good job. I think you should also start having a firmer hand on extensive profanity and spam. :)
"Fuck, this map is hard."
"That chaingun is a cockasaurus. shitty AGD to boot."
"How many licks does it take to get the center of a Brttrx penis map?"
These are all harmless uses of flagged words on NUMA.

There's nothing wrong with profanity. Fuck you.Inspired wrote:I agree with Radium, good job. I think you should also start having a firmer hand on extensive profanity and spam. :)
But seriously, unless someone is being excessively malicious, I don't see the need to selectively censor words out of the English language because they offend Inspired.

And as for spam, I think it's been dealt with very effectively.Skyling wrote:There's nothing wrong with profanity. Fuck you.Inspired wrote:I agree with Radium, good job. I think you should also start having a firmer hand on extensive profanity and spam. :)

What do you guys class as multiaccounting these days? More than one account per IP or multiple votes per IP?

Yup, and the problem arises when more than one of the accounts is being used to place votes. Hot Maps can become inflated, with the same maps stuck on it day after day because of the sheer number of votes on them, if this isn't checked in some way. Same thing with the days of Top Rated, only rating a 5 is slightly different than just rating.Spawn of Yanni wrote:I believe, although I have nothing to do with it, it's multiple accounts on one IP without talking to admins about it.

If your extra accounts already have voting privileges disabled then you do not need to notify the admins of anything since you cannot abuse ratings with that account. Only notify the admins if your other accounts still have the ability to place votes.SkyPanda wrote:Admins change, how often do we have to update them about >1 accounts on 1 IP?

George handled it if I recall and he never disabled voting. Up til now i've used the old account to vote and the new one for everything else (just so I could be sure i'd never accidently vote a map twice). I'll email one of the current admins when I next go on numa. thanks mateManus Australis wrote:If your extra accounts already have voting privileges disabled then you do not need to notify the admins of anything since you cannot abuse ratings with that account. SkyPanda, if your other account is the one I believe it is, I've already taken care of this.SkyPanda wrote: George handled it if I recall and he never disabled voting.
