I just followed how many of each enemy you told me to place.
Evil_Sire wrote:The tiles were ugly.
I kind of disagree, but there is nothing we can do there.
Evil_Sire wrote:I did say playtest it thoroughly, you obviously didn't.
Apart from the fact that I did playtest, and it works well for the limitations I had, how do you expect someone who is new at map making to succesfully playtest their maps?

The point I am trying to get across with all this, is that while your guide may be targeting people who have never even heard of NED before reading this, it leaves out alot of information that you assume obvious which most probably isn't.

edit: and thanks atob.

Neither. Someone from 2005 with 400 maps is the way to go.
Learn to have respect for more enemies. You made floorguards sound like utter trash, when they are just as good as your precious gauss. And listen to guidance of older mapmakers, if they're offering it. At the very least, you'll get a new, if not better, perspective on mapping.

A huge improvement. Do you want discussion/opinions on the advice given in the guide, or shall i leave it at that :P

Oh, and I reckon you should take Avarin's advice, some headings and also links to example maps would really improve it further.
