Welcome one and all, to the revisited MICC!, here's what you need to know

Q: Revisited?
A:
Now, this is what the contest should have been like ages ago. You're gonna have much more fun.

Q: So they both had different judging methods, so will this one be the same?
A:
No, actually this one will use public votes in a similar style to SotW. So this should make things interesting.

Q: Will there be any prizes for winning?
A:
None this time unfortunately.

Q: How long will this run for?
A:
10 weeks, as long as southpaw doesn't hijack me back :P

Q: Rules?
A:
Yes.
  • All work must be new and fresh, not rotten apples please.
  • You may submit work to deviantART/Flickr etc.
  • You may only submit once, not twice, once.
  • Keep your images in .PNG format, you should know better if you're participating...
  • You need to PM me your image.
After all, have fun!

Week One, ends 9th August

Ok guys, here's your first challenge, you have to create a signature. Doesn't sound too hard does it? But there's a catch, you can't make it more than 550 pixels in width and 200 pixels in height (Obviously this is the max canvas size, if you make the sig 600x250 but the size of the inside image is 550x200 it will still not be accepted). And the final catch is this, you have to use this image in your signature. Good luck.

Image

Week Two, ends 24th August

Take a stock photograph, and add effects to make it look more appealing. Use your imagination!

Week Three, ends 7th September

What you have to do is take a stunning photograph of something involving nature, be it an animal or plant or fish as long as it isn't rude. You may use camera filters for this to improve your photograph, but you cannot modify it in an image editing program in any way. Yes I know this strays from the original name but it's to do with imaging. Now get snapping!

In an effort to understand GIMP better, I am going to try and enter this contest. Life might intervene, unfortunately, but I will do my best.

I'm in.

EDIT: wait... when you say we have to use the image in our signature, do you mean as soon as we create it? during the voting? once the winner has been decided?

To be quite frank, no offence to you, but isn't it obvious that you have to use that image in the signature you're making?

I think Aphex is a bit confused:

This doesn't mean you have to use the image as your signature, it means you have to use it to make a signature.

Week Two time!

This one's gonna be interesting. Considering that Google Chrome 3.0 now has the ability to use themes, I'm going to set you the task of creating a theme for the browser. It isn't hard, just use the examples Google has set up, you don't need to create custom icons, just create a Window background.

Have fun!

No, just because your version is made of fail at the moment.

Can't do crap in 450x360. I'm just gonna make a larger actual-size version. :3

7 days from posting. The results will be tallied up then. If most people have voted within 3 or so days I will shorten it.

Create a full preview if you wish then.

Oh wow, I can't make a small image with a few icons on top, it takes so much effort.

>_>

Considering you're a bunch o' lazy asses who either forgot about the contest or couldn't be arsed (It really was a simple task), I'll give you something different.

What your task is now is to take a stock photograph, linking the source to me in the PM, and tweaking it to look better by using effects within your imaging program.
