So in the 9 years to XP, nothing changed. They just made it look a bit better, sounds like Windows in general. Joking (but not really).

It looks pretty functional for 3.1, I'm actually kinda impressed.

This just reminded me how retarded the airbrush was.

It was pretty powerful for its time, yes. Still, it had its perks. The paint introduced in Windows 95 is mostly unchanged to date.

The latest thing they added in Vista (and the ONLY thing as far as I can tell, and I think they actually already had this in XP) is taking advantage of subpixel rendering. By making the text look crappy (as if it was run through a prism) zoomed in, it makes it look much more smooth at normal zoom because you can have the text move through 1/3rd of a pixel.

But they implemented this feature in the most idiotic way possible. There is only 1 way to toggle between normal pixeled text and colour-leaking precise text, and it is possibly the stupidest meathod of toggling a feature ever to be implemented in the history of computing, aside from maybe punch cards.

To disable it, you must change your system to view text normally, by going into display options, and turning off font rendering. Since it becomes a bitmap and not actual text information, you can then change it back.

I hate you, Microsoft. Learn how to upgrade things. (Proof that Microsoft doesn't know what an upgrade is: Windows XP Sound Recorder vs. Windows Vista Sound Recorder)

I was surprised has to how PBRUSH ran so well in my Windows 7.

AND HELL YES NEW SOUND RECORDER SUCKS SO HARD.

Oh, and they improved some stuff in 7 like new menus (Office-like) and more brushes. There's some more stuff, I think. (I'm assuming that that wasn't improved in Vista)

BTW, the Sound Recorder changed very little from 3.x to XP.
