you can get a huge amount of great fonts from both those places.

But I like my crappy fonts.

I agree with what Izzy has said but I also disagree. I have only looked at rocket_thumped's tutorial for vector art and even then I never put that to use, all it really did was help me understand what the Pen tool in Photoshop can be used for.

Playing around with whatever graphic imaging program you have is what I recommend, though tutorials seem to do you very well. Maybe a blend of both? I think that's what Izzy is suggesting basically.
