I thought the icon size max was like 256x256, or is that just Vista?

incluye wins, contest is over.

Seriously, it's awesome, even though he just copied a style.

I would like incluye's more if the gloss didn't go over the color scale on the right.

He meant the file format. For pics like these, always use PNG over JPEG.

Techno, Vista can take up to 256x256 while for an icon to be Leopard-ready it generally needs a 512x512 size.

IMHO These are good, but not great for icons. Maybe as things put on the website, but not as an icon on my desktop. But that's my taste, and I ain't good with icons. There were some awesome ones posted on the old forums. Should look for them.

Here's my stab at it. I have it in 512x512 as well in case somebody wants it in that size.

That looks pretty sweet. One thing that you could do to make it better though, is to add a bit more shadow. Like the shadow on the flash player icon in the first post.

Preferred Bufar's, the shadowing gradient seemed very rough and some of the edges seemed a little hard imo. Then again, what od I know about imaging? Also preferred the grainy texture on bufar's.

I wish I could make my desktop icons that huge.
Unfortunately, this monitor can only fit two of those ;_;

When you save it as an .ico (for Windows at least), it scales it down for you.

About bufar's and incluye's logo: Those ninjas are looking like those from N+. Just remove those red things from their foreheads and it will be better. Unless if you tried to make a logo for N+, of course.
