Well I did say that I was still learning. I'll test out some stuff right now.

EDIT: And also I was wondering how to change a certain color invisible. THat way I could just take a normal pic with a white background and the background invisible. Anyone know how to do that?

I don't have any smudge brushes. And when I try the settings that I've found in tutorials, it only vreates lines, and it doesn't smudge anything.

For some reason the bucket tool doesn't work on my comp.

Yeah, I'll try. What would you like it of? I just want to know because I can't make a really good one without knowing what it should be a picture of.

Assuming you have a PC, to make transparent background you have to separate your layers. Do not place any renders in the same layer as the background, or else transparency becomes extremely difficult. To make a brand new layer click the button that appears next to the trashcan icon in the layer menu.

From here, make your sig as you want to. It helps to create new layers every time you add a new element to your signature, so that if you make a mistake you can simply just erase that layer or delete it instead of having to undo a bunch.

When you are all done, click the "eye" icon next to the layer that you don't want to see anymore (the background layer of white for example). The layer should disappear entirely and you should see gray and white squares in the background.

Now, go to File>Save for web... and once you are in there be sure to find the format you will be saving in and choose PNG-24. Be sure to click the Transparency checkbox. When you are finished saving it then upload it and post it here!

Hope that was explanatory enough.

Well I know how to make new layers, and I always use multiple layers. I was really asking how to change one single color in a picture to transparent. For example, say I was looking for a picture, but I couldn't find any renders, and I had to use a picture that had a built-in white background. How would I change it so that the already built-in white background would disappear, and I would be left with a render from what originally was a picture?

Here's a sig that I just made. It's for Isaacx. You don't have to use it; I just felt like making it, and yours was the only name that would work that I tried.

mmm, things get tricky here. You'll want to familiarize yourself with the pen tool. It allows you to make selections of the borders you want instead of by color or shape. If you zoom in to maximum zoom and then select the pen tool you need only select the pixels of the outside border of the image and continue selecting anywhere from 1 to 100 pixels depending on how straight of a line the pixels make when you're selecting.
When you've made your way around the image then you select the first place you clicked and it will make a mask. (Did I forget to mention you have to lower the opacity of the Pen Tool Layer to zero so you can see what you're selecting?) Set the opacity to 100%, click the "eye" icon next to the layer with the render and then use the magic wand tool to select the color of the mask.
Disappear the mask layer, then reappear the render layer. With the marquee tool selected, right-click on the selection and choose Make New Layer Via Cut. Then delete the white background layer.

Some notes:
This method is tedious and long and usually leaves a pixelly white border around the outer edge, which can be cleared up with the eraser tool and a slight blur. Otherwise this is the most effective method that I've personally used. No doubt there are more effective ways to do so. Searching the internet might come up with some good results.

Hope that helps,
