http://www.fotopedia.com/

This place is cool. It's an image based encyclopedia that anyone can contribute to.
Jean-Marie Hullot, founder of Fotopedia, former CTO of NeXT Software and Apple’s Application Division wrote:After traveling the world, I wanted to share my photos with others. Flickr and other photo sites give you exposure for only a brief window in time, and adding photos to wikipedia proved too complicated for the average user. This sparked the idea for a ‘wikipedia of photos’ – that combines the permanence and community collaboration of wikipedia with the ease of use of consumer desktop applications.
Fotopedia is building a collaborative photo encyclopedia. It is like a visual complement to Wikipedia. We are working hard to ensure photos in the encyclopedia will get found as easily as Wikipedia pages in search engines. We are also building the widest photo distribution network to give photos the most visibility possible.
Beautifully designed as well. Some of the elements make me think of Chase's work.

QFE, although I was a little disappointed to see that both of the photos of my borough made it look like shithole (which, to be fair, it probably is, but there are some really nice places in it, too). The quality of the photos is great, nevertheless.

Looks like quite a cool site. A very clever idea, certainly - I wish there was a similar thing for music extracts and themes.
Just for fun, I looked up my name. While it didn't have an article, it recommended that I look at "Penguin", "Jellyfish", and "Turtle".
